Why My Inspiron mini will not start?

Hi, It is unfortunate that the computer is not turning on. Request you to try following the below steps which might help:
(1)Turn off the computer. (2)Remove all the external peripherals like AC Adaptor, flash drives, battery, etc. (3)Press and hold the power button for 30sec which releases the static on the computer (if any) (4)Put back the battery and plug in the AC Adaptor. (5)Let the computer charge for some time. (6)Try turning on the computer. If the computer doesn't turn on then check hoe the Power LEDs on the system, battery and AC Adaptor react. Then I can check and help you further. Thanks and Regards. Kiran Kumar. #iworkfordell.

Problem Event name: Startup Repair Offline

So will the computer boot or is Startup Repair hanging or looping and preventing the computer to boot successfully? If you can't boot successfully you'll need a repair disc or operating system disc so that you can get to a command prompt (black screen with white writing) and run the check disk command. To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /rCheck disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine. If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs. In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear. In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command. If check disk does not solve the problem you will probably have to reinstall your operating system. Try to do a Repair Install so that it does not delete your data.

Why is my red light flashing

This could be due to a faulty battery. Try removing the battery and see if things work properly. If it does, you need a new battery. If it doesn't make a difference, it could be the power supply that needs replacing.

How do I fit gmail in my Dell notepad using mozilla

Your best bet is to simply reduce the font size. You can hold the Ctrl key down and hit the minus (-) button and it will reduce the size. You can go into your browser configuration and change the default size and it will stay the way you want it. Using the method above will work, but change back after you close the browser or go to another page.

Forget my password dell mini

This method is easy enough for newbies to follow - it doesn't require using the Recovery Console or any complicated commands. And it's free - I mention that because you can pay two hundred dollars for an emergency download of Winternals ERD with Locksmith which is a utility for unlocking lost Windows passwords. See here http://www.winternals.com/products/repairandrecovery/locksmith.asp
ERD is an excellent multi purpose product, but you should know it is not a necessary one if you have a healthy system and your sole problem is the inability to logon to Windows due to a forgotten password. Not necessary because you can easily change or wipe out your Administrator password for free during a Windows XP Repair. Here's how with a step-by-step description of the initial Repair process included for newbie's.
1. Place your Windows XP CD in your cd-rom and start your computer (it's assumed here that your XP CD is bootable - as it should be - and that you have your bios set to boot from CD)
2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting to your cd Typically, it will be "Press any key to boot from cd"
3. Once you get in, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.

4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to Setup Windows now
5. The Licensing Agreement comes next - Press F8 to accept it.
6. The next screen is the Setup screen which gives you the option to do a Repair.

It should read something like "If one of the following Windows XP installations is damaged, Setup can try to repair it"
Use the up and down arrow keys to select your XP installation (if you only have one, it should already be selected) and press R to begin the Repair process.
7. Let the Repair run. Setup will now check your disks and then start copying files which can take several minutes.
8. Shortly after the Copying Files stage, you will be required to reboot. (this will happen automatically - you will see a progress bar stating "Your computer will reboot in 15 seconds"
9. During the reboot, do not make the mistake of "pressing any key" to boot from the CD again! Setup will resume automatically with the standard billboard screens and you will notice Installing Windowsis highlighted.
10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devicesprogress bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for wide access to your system.
11. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter. Voila! You have just gained graphical access to your User Accounts in the Control Panel.
12. Now simply pick the account you need to change and remove or change your password as you prefer. If you want to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on without being asked for password. After you've made your changes close the windows, exit the command box and continue on with the Repair (have your Product key handy).
13. Once the Repair is done, you will be able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password). Your programs and personalized settings should remain intact.

Dell inspiron mini 10 bios password

Step 1: BIOS is the first function run by a computer when turned on. It is known as "Boot Firmware," and it checks and initializes other components in your computer, such as your video chip, hard disk or sound card. Because this is the initial process in a computer, it can be troublesome for users who forget their BIOS password and need to access the BIOS. There are several main strategies to attempt when trying to bypass a BIOS password, including accessing the hard disk (which should contain the BIOS password), trying backdoor BIOS passwords (backdoor passwords are generic passwords created by manufacturers in case the user password is lost or forgotten), and flashing the BIOS (flashing is the process of overwriting the original data with new data). Enter the CMOS start-up menu when you turn on the machine by pressing DEL, F2, or CTRL + ALT + DEL during the boot sequence. Go to STANDARD CMOS SETUP. Find control options for the hard disk. Change both TYPE and MODE to: AUTO. Reboot the system. You will now have access to the hard disk. From this menu, you should be able to find basic system passwords, including the BIOS password. b> Trying Standard Backdoor Passwords For AWARD BIOS, try the following passwords: "AWARD SW, AWARD_SW, Award SW, AWARD PW, _award, awkward, J64, j256, j262, j332, j322, 01322222, 589589, 589721, 595595, 598598, HLT, SER, SKY_FOX, aLLy, aLLY, Condo, CONCAT, TTPTHA, aPAf, HLT, KDD, ZBAAACA, ZAAADA, ZJAAADC, djonet." For AMI BIOS, try the following passwords: "AMI, A.M.I., AMI SW, AMI_SW, BIOS, PASSWORD, HEWITT RAND, Oder." For all other types of BIOSes, try the following passwords: "LKWPETER, lkwpeter, BIOSTAR, biostar, BIOSSTAR, biosstar, ALFAROME, Syxz, Wodj." b> Flashing the BIOS in Software Access MS DOS and type "DEBUG" at the command prompt. This will bring up the DEBUG menu. Type the following code for AMI/AWARD BIOS (note: the Os are the letter "oh," not the numeral "Zero"): "O 70 17 O 71 17 Q" Type the following code for Phoenix BIOS (note: the Os are the letter "oh," not the numeral "Zero"): "O 70 FF O 71 17 Q" If the previous steps yield no results, try the following code: "O 70 2E O 71 FF Q"
