Your unit is in load mode. It is expecting an input signal from a usb port on a computer. If it is stuck in that mode, doing a master reset may help.

Hi Carl,You should check your car's fuses to see if the one that supplies power to your USB charger is still good. If you're not sure how to do this, you could try plugging a different device into it and see if it works. If it doesn't - you'll need to inspect the fuse or wiring. (you could also try the charger in a different port or different car to see if the issue is tied to the charger).If the other device does work, it is possible that the charger has a built in fuse. If the charger is the type that plugs into your cigar lighter, you may find the the tip holds the fuse. The tip may reveal the fuse if unscrewed from the body or may require a screw driver to open the body. Either way, you'll need to ascertain if there is a fuse in it and if so, check its condition.Sometimes, the charger needs to be aligned a certain way in the cigar lighter / power port (or outlet) due to the way some automakers and device manufacturers design the connections. Repeatedly remove and replace the plug in the lighter / port. Each time, turn the the plug slightly so that it takes 6 to 8 insertions to rotate all the way around in the outlet. This should provide at least one position that allows the plug to make the required contact in the lighter / power port.Lastly, make sure that there is no foreign object / debris in the outlet, that the the plug fits snugly in the outlet, the the plug's tip has a spring pushing it forward and that the plug is fully inserted into the outlet.Hopefully, one of these suggestions will get it working. However good news is, that you would down load the maps, from Navman and save on desk top, then have to transfer upload to your gps with usb port. Otherwise that is pretty much all you can do. This is a common problem.Try pressing the reset button underneath the antenna and if this doesn't help, then you'll need to have the LCD display replaced.The LCD display has it's own IC chips (Integrated circuits) that receive data from the main board and convert it to a visual readout. Having repaired many GPS's myself, any problems with the display are usually confined to the display itself. Now,if you dropped it, there's a possibility that the internal flex cable has partially come loose from the board. However, you can't tell that unless the gps is opened up. I have seen gps's with an all white screen, half white, half OK...all which were caused by a defective screen. Prices vary based upon whether you want a new screen or a used one. The price can be anywhere between $45 and up.
Please don't try to do this yourself. I have received many horror stories from people who have destroyed their gp's by attempting to take it apart.

Try this: Go to Preferences > Next Page > GPS Status > Reset GPS. Then go outside, stay stationary until you get a GPS fix, should take no more than 5 min

Download the Navman S30 update click HERE! and save it on your desktop .
Also download the Navman S30 manual click HERE! -->page 96 for instructions .

The second option should allow you to download the update and then you will have to follow the instructions and connect your gps to the computer via usb cable.

1. Connect your device to the computer 2. Make a backup of your addresses and favorites if you wish 3. In File Explorer, right click on the device (removable drive) >> Format 4. Start the Desktop 5. Go to Tools >> Reinstall the software 6. Go to Tools >> Recover Keys 7. Go to Voice Transfer and re-install the voice files 8. Reinstall the maps

Try This:

1. Connect our S30 to your PC and format
2. Unplug, let it restart, then plug back in
3. Reinstall software from NavDesk software
4. Recover the keys
5. Reinstall the maps

Insert a Needle or straightened out Paper Clip in the Side of your Navman S30..It,s on the left Hand Side ( while looking at the Screen) 7 it is covered with a Rubber Plug..There are 2 Holes under this Plug--1 is for an External Aerial & the other is the Reset Hole...

Do a reset (tap reset in menu), then try doing the update again, with Navman connected to computer via USB cable. Ensure that the computer is connected to the Internet. Eventually turn off the firewall.

If the Navman still does not connect to the MIO server, try reinstalling the software. Here the procedure.

Have a check and see if you maybe need a Firmware upgrade.
This happened to many new Navman S30's, as the problem lies with an outdated NavDesk 2008. The solution is quite simple and easy. Just download the latest version of NavDesk 2008 from Navman.com, and install that on your PC.

Once you have installed the latest NavDesk 2008, run the program and connect your Navman to it. Follow the instructions and update your Navman S30 accordingly.
