The wrist strap has a thin loop on one end. Thread this thin section (like threading a needle) through the strap hole. (It's on the left side of the camera. There are two openings with a bar over the top of the center of them at the bottom corner of the camera body.) Start threading from the middle of the body of the camera and push the strap towards the bottom of the unit. You may need to twist the loop to narrow it and keep it tight. Once you have this narrow loop through the camera, open up the loop and slide the thick material through the center of this thin loop. Pull the wrist strap until the thin loop tightens around the bar. This is shown on page 12 of the D30 manual. Reduce the quality in the menu

Get a card reader for your computer, if it doesn't already have one. The card will then appear as another hard drive, and you can transfer photos the same way you transfer any other kind of files. Using a card reader is also likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer/

Do you mean when playing video back on the camera? If so, when the video is playing, press on the top of the wheel, the part with the triangle pointing upwards (up-arrow). You should see the small volume level indicator get an increasing number of bars and the volume will increase.

This is an OLD camera that uses CF cards - the earliest type of card storage. I have provided a link to the manual for the camera - it is considered as Powershot S20 based on your PC1002 number. On page 21 of the manual (page 24 of the pdf) there is a table listing the compatible cards. Can you access the images on your computer ? If you can, then the fault lies in the camera. If you cannot, then the card may have become corrupted and you will have to rely on your backup copies.

Give the camera some time. Don't remove the battery till the reset is done. I hope your battery was charged before you started the reset. If the battery runs out of power, you must charge it comlpete, before putting it in again. I hope the reset went well. If not only try a reset with a fully charged battery.

The camera's internal date/time "backup" battery is supposed to maintain the date/time for about 3 weeks with the camera turned off. If the camera is not used for a longer period, the date/time will need to be reset. If you are having to reset sooner than that, it is likely that the internal battery (not user replacable on most models) has failed.

hi, it could be a software problem. if the camera doesn't get the battery's information this will occur the center terminal of the battery must be clean, similarly the contact inside the camera. if it works for a little while, try to reset to default manner.

hi, it is for just a safety, no other cameras have this, when the b/lid open it will disconnect the battery power.
