SNOW FORMING IN FREEZER
Could be a number of things. Is the fan running in the freezer section, are the door gaskets sealing completely, even on the bottom of the doors? Could be a defrost issure where the thermotat is allowing it to over heat during defrost and the the cooling cycle starts after defrost and forms the ice an snow from the moisture in the unit.
GE TFX22P Refrigerator Evaporator Fan
Fun run as long as the compressor runs and you do not need to worry about it. the only thing you need to verify are the temperatures in the refrigerator and and freezer compartment: below 40-F, and below 0-F
if temp ok, do not wory about it.
Noticed that the fridge is not cooling lowered the temp settin still not cooling. freezer seens to be keeping food frozen but things in the door are soft.
Culd be bad news. I would check to make sure the condenser fan motor is working properley first off. If it is running continuously along with the compresser, I would clean the condenser and call a repair man. What has happened is the compressor has been running too hot, and the oil gets to the point where it separates, that is called the waxing point. Then the oil evaporates into the refrigerant then cools off in the capillary tube ( the metering device into the evaperator) and coats the inside and creates a smaller hole for the refrigerant to flow through and boils it off earlier in the evaperator not allowing the same cooling effect. You will need to call a tech in for this one.
Good luck
Ge profile fridge tfh22pr. everthing is working
Hello
The compressor, which is the heart of the sealed system, is that big black steel ball in the back of the unit. Inside is a little pump that is suspended by three or four springs. One of your springs is broken, and when the compressor shots off it bangs against the inside of that ball.
A replacement compressor is no longer available, and even if it were, the repair would cost would be too much to put into a 15 year old unit. ($600-700 min.)
There's no way to tell how long it will run. I've heard stories that ranged from days to years. This should give you time to do a little research on a new unit, and formulate a plan for immediate food transfer if it fails.
There are a lot of sources for the research, but I always suggest people call a couple of service centers that are factory authorized on several brands. You can usually catch a road tech in the shop shortly after opening time, and they will have an opinion to share. I favor the plain jane mechanical twist-the-knob thermostat vs electronics, no water/ice, thanks. But that's just me.
Also check the warranty. Most have gone to the one year and then you lose. Extended warranty?
More research there.
Hope this helps you out, and good luck.

I think my fridge has the snow buildup in the
okay, always start with the obvious.do a full defrost(leave the door open, unit switched off.)DO NOT use any hot water or sharp objects.
clean/syringe out any drain(s)with clorine bleach,(the smell will go in about 30 mins.)wipe the door seals with washing up liquid solution, then wipe over with bleach and rinse off. When the interior of the fridge is dry, close door and check door seals are flat to frame(airtight)then switch on and set to coldest for 24hours.you can fill up with food at any time but make sure all food, bar veg,is covered, to cut down on condensation.then set to +5C for fridge and -18C for freezer.(use a thermometer if you have one)
