Check rear of the freezer for frost , If you have frost there you will need to service the defrost circuitry. More times than not the defrost heaters are the problem

Your pump is probably isn't working. It is in back of frig.

The freezer fan will run as long as the unit is running. Some newer model will run the fan at a low speed unless it needs a quick chill mode such as leaving the door open too long, but for the most part the freezer fan is only shut off by the thermostat and defrost timer.

Your problem is a faulty water solinoid inlet valve.
You have either two or a combo water solinoid inlet valve.
If you have a seperate water solinoid valve that controls the water to the ice maker and a seperate solinoid to control the water to the water dispenser, then the one that controls the water to the ice maker is faulty and is in need of replacement.
If it is a two in one combination solinoid valve then you will have to replace it.
If your really lucky, sometimes when you pull the old solinoid valve out it will have some trash blocking the water inlet screen, if so you can remove the trash and the valve will work again, but most of the time the valve will have to be replaced.
The water valves are most of the time located around the motor and fan area, and can be gotten to by the removal of the bottom panel from the refrigerator.
After you remove the solinoid, get an old motor cord, extesion cord with a electrical plug on one end and bare wires on the other.
Take the two wires from the extension cord and wire them together with the wires from the solinoid valve that you have removed from the refrigerator and making sure you are NOT TOUCHING the wires, plug the cord into a wall socket, the solinoid valve
should click if it is good, if it does not click then replace it as it is faulty.

Possible that the fan is defective or the fan is receiving low voltage so as not to run by itself.
you will need to remove the fan and check with an external voltage to see if the fan starts without an external trigger.
If not check the voltage to the fan , trace for any loose connection or poor joints for loss of voltage.

This is caused by a rusted plunger and solenoid . To replace them ( in a kit pt # WR62X10055 ) , remove the top plastic hinge cover of the freezer door , and disconnect the plug there . This removes power to the door . Use a small screwdriver or butter knife , under the dispenser control panel , and pry outward . Disconnect the 3 plugs . Remove the 4 screws on each corner of the white dispenser switch body , and slide foreward . The solenoid and plunger are at the top right , held on by 3 screws . Replace with the kit . Cleaning the plunger will not help . The kit needs to be replaced . ( note .. when reinstalling the white switch holder , it slides back in , on a slight track , so the dispenser board will pop back in flush . When re-installing the dispenser board , put the top in first , then pop the bottom back in place ) . Don't forget to plug the door back in .

I have a problem with my refrigerator , has a funky smell and when you taste the water is funky smell too, so waht is the problem the model is tfx25jrbbww serial vt231111.

you have anserered your owne ? yes its the dual valve as the are independent and one side is for foutain and other is for ice . and let in diferent amounts of water .. mm replace the water valve ..

Look inside the fresh food compartment and behind the control panel and there should be a defrost timer. Part number WR9X489 and that is the only reason that I can think of that would keep the fan running all the time. What I think is the contacts that normally open to let the freezer defrost are fused or welded themselves together. If compressor cycles and temperatures are OK (safe) that leads me to that needing replaced. I will look for the wiring diagram for your model but have found it hard to really get those answers from GE. But most timers are universal as long as the time of defrost and hours between are correct, Let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze
