Unfortunately, you have to reset the unit if you forget the password...here is the link to the user's manual....see page 15.

Try going to www.franklin.com and go to customer service.

Uses 4 AAA batteries.1. Turn the spelling ace over. 2. Unscrew the back cover and slide it off in the indication direction 3. Install the new batteries following the markings in the compartment. 4. Replace the back cover.

There is no way for us to recover the password than to reset the unit. Please take not that restting the unit will erase all the data stored inside it. There is a small hole to your unit the use the sharp end of a straightened paperclip to gently press the rest button.

straighten out a small paper clip and use that wire to push on the reset button.

on the back u will find a small hole which contains the reset button. straighten out a paper clip and slide it in the hole. push gently and your unit may work well again
