Frigidaire FRS6LR5E ice maker won't stop making
Ice maker wire signal arm is being held down by some item in the freezer. Move item and release wire signal arm. Any ice cubes that are frozen together over the wire signal arm. the ice rises in the ice bucket and pushes the wire signal arm up and this is what stops ice production as ice is used then arm comes down and starts ice production all over again. if there is nothing holding arm down then you will need to replace ice maker.
Ice machine not making ice
You will have a 60-90 fill cycle, then circulate, then another 60-90 fill, then on to ice making. When Ice making starts all remaining functions come on, such as the condenser fan, and compressor. Check for these functions after the initial fill/rinse/fill has finished. if the condenser fan comes on but the compressor does not, you very well may need a control board located behind the on/off switch panel. With constant heavy loads/usage, and or a dirty condenser coil the compressor relay solder joints often become weak and short open on the board, this can sometimes be fixed by just cleaning and re-soldering the relay joint on the board. My GE Monogram Ice Maker keeping turning its self
the rate the light flashes is a code for trouble shooting the electronics on the unit ( such as bad coil sensor, bad bin sensor or shorted grid cutter) if you will look behind the front grille you should find a tech sheet that will tell you what the flasing means and tell you what components to replace. BTW the most common failure is the cutter grid and bin sensor. the sensor is the white rod on the right hand wall inside the unit. besure it is plugged in. Let me know if I can help you futher. thanks Peyton
Freezer plate not freezing
is the compressor on? if not, start coil may be bad. if yes, check the airflow through the condenser (on the bottom). if it's clogged with dust, clean it out with a vacuum hose. if the fan isn't running, it may need replacing. the condenser needs air flow to cool down. if all is running and the condenser is not warm or the compressor is not hot, you have a regfrigeration leak. if the compressor is very hot, it may be seized up. if nothing is on, there is a board problem
Ice maker over flows
Not sure on this brand, but on some ice makers, there is an adjustment for the length of time the water the water runs down the chute. See if the ice maker instruction sheet is in the back of the unit - it may show where and how to adjust the time. Another idea would be to partially close the water valve that goes to the ice maker unit, so less water gets into the ice maker. However, over time, this will mean the valve will leak through when the valve is turned off. Good Luck
