A square, flat component fits
Good day. I have been to their website and cannot even locate your model. I am not sure how old your unit is but chances are you may not be able to get hold of the spare parts required. The only option is to take the fan with you to a hardware store and get a bolt that fits the thread of your fan motor, and add a spring washer under the bolt to secure it tightly. Hope this helps
Fan is only 8 months old and will not power on...
The switch is the most likely part to fail, and will have to be taken apart to be checked. If the switch is good, the fan motor could be bad, in which case it's just better to buy a new one.
If you're mechanically inclined, and can use a voltmeter, you can toubleshoot the unit, but you will have to disassemble it to get to the supply lines.
Good luck, and hope this helps.
Our fan's blade will barely
"Our fan\'s blade will barely turn. Can it be fixed?"
Of course. Usually the front bearing gets dry and gummy. The fan may run after the armature is warm, but it fails to start when it's cold.
Unplug the fan first, right? Then lay the fan flat.
If you can get access to the shaft near the front bearing, just put a few drops of sewing machine oil on the shaft. Let it sit a while, then put the fan in its normal operating position, plug it in and turn it on.
If you can't get close to that area, you'll need to take the grill off, and remove the blades. Then lay the fan flat and squirt some sewing machine oil on the shaft near the front bearing.
The rear bearing is usually OK, while the front one seems to get dry and gummed up.
With the fan flat, run the motor on and off until it starts spinning freely.
Then replace the blades and the grill.
Failing all this, you might find some retired old timer who still does this type of work.
We have two holmes fans
mcdevito75 here, You say you changed the batteries in both fans, tried to spin the blades and no start., Double check battery install, try another set of batteries even new batteries from the store can be weak or even dead as batteries have shelf life of, not too long. Spin the fan blades as fast but as safe as possible by hand with the on /off switch off, and listen for any noise from the fan motor, a sraping sound, or whistle could mean a bad motor. Lastly, bring the fans to a Staples, they will be glad to test them, a Radio Shack also can test the fan motors.
Fan won't spin
The thermal fuse is usually mounted inside the motor or mounted on the outside of the motor. The Thermal fuse is usually wrapped up so it is kind of hard to spot right away. If you have a ohm meter or a voltage meter, you can check continuity of the wire to find out where the continuity is broken.
You should be able to ohm out the motor. If the motor doesn't ohm out good, then you then can assume that the thermal fuse is located inside the motor. If you open the motor up, Keep in mind that the thermal fuse would be closest to the casing.
Good luck, I hope you can get it working or at least figure out what went bad.

Wire box fan direct bypass switch
Am I the only one reading that the OP is asking about a box fan.....never seen lights on a box fan...
I'm also trying to bypass the 3 speed knob on my box fan. Is it possible? I ask because preliminary testing of holding wires to each other turned the blade but began getting hot and with enough time I'm sure would've been a pretty nice fire.
