GE Profile Refrigerator Ice/Water dispenser not working

Had the same problem. Pressed button heard a click, saw zeroes flash, then nothing. After some online search I found and solved the problem. Corrosion and condensation on the connector plug attached to the wire at the bottom of the freezer door. Remove plastic grill, pull out wire from under box. You'll find a plastic connector and possibly wet or corroded wiring. CUT POWER TO FRIDGE OFF FIRST. I cut away the white plastic connector then stripped and tied the wires together with wire caps. Taped them up too. Note which wire goes to which first. Mine was blue to blue, black to black, and red to white. Problem solved.

Water Dispenser not working

If the ice maker is working, and no water is coming out, the water line may be frozen.  This happened to me yesterday, and I followed the advice on ehow.com.  It worked like a charm! Take a hair dryer, and blow hot air up into the dispenser tube, holding the hair dryer about 8-10 inches away.  After about 5 minutes or so, a tiny chip of ice and a couple of drops may pop out.  Fill up a couple of glasses of water to flush it out, and you should be good!

Why is there water dripping from the bottom of the water/ice dispenser

The solenoid valve that controls the water dispenser is leaking internally. It will be a double valve (one for ice, the other for chilled water) located at the bottom of the frame in the back of the unit. To find it, just trace where the plastic tubes originate from. Easy to replace. These leaks are sometimes caused by particles getting trapped on the valve seat. This can be prevented by use of an inline water filter on the copper supply line.

Ge smartwater plus

The problem would not be from your water filter. The water is controlled by the dual water valve inteh back of the fridge. The water valve will most likely need to be replaced. It's possible that a small piece of debris found it's way to the ice maker water valve after disturbing the filter. It's also possible that the ice maker is at fault too, causing the valve to stay energized too long. Although if the valve stays energized too long it will eventually burn out. You can try unplugging the 2 wire plug to the ice maker valve to see if the problem stops first, if not than you will need to replace the water valve unit. Pleazer Appliance...

How long should led light last inside a ge refrigerator

The average life of a LED is like 10,000 hours, sounds more like a problem with the switch. How handy are you with a VOM? If your not handy, then you may want to call in an appliance repair man or a electrician.

How can I fix my fridge?

think twice. You replace this, but it still is a 14 year old fridge. Next week something else can go down. The newer ones use less power to cool the same amount. Buy a new one, you have warranty, and in its lifetime it will save you money on the electricity bills.

My kitchen aid water and ice dispenser quit working

Check if water is still going into your fridge by disconnecting thr water line to it and seeing for water. If so, next if you have a volt meter check for 110volts to water valve while someone calls presses to dispense water. If no volt meter to run the test, cross your fingers and hope its not a rare problem and replace the water valve (its most likely that)

Open the freezer and remove the ice bucket. You should now see the tray were the ice cubes freeze, check to see if it is fractured or leaking and the position of the water outlet pipe to the ice tray. If the water pipe is firing water out of the tray just readjust it.
