I have a GE JGBP79Ceb3cc
Hi,
In your ovens there is a single oven burner in which case they only have a single gas valve and igniter. The same burner is used for both bake and broil functions, the broil usually being in the drawer area below the oven. The thermostat or the electronic control has gone bad. Usually it’s the thermostat which needs replacements.
Please ask us doubts if any.

Check to see if the ignitor glows in the oven. If it does not come on or comes on very dim, you have a bad ignitor. It is usually a bad ignitor. They are very simple to replace. Just unplug the oven first. Then take off the bottom of the oven floor inside the oven to access the ignitor. the ignitor has 2 wires going to a plug, just unplug the plug and remove the mounting screws. Take your ignitor to a local appliance store to get a replacement. There are 2 models of ignitors so bring the old one with you to make sure you get the right one. Good luck..
Oven not working properly
I just solved this problem with my GE gas range. I waited forever for the oven to warm up. The igniter would glow, light the burner and burn for a minute or so and go out. It would repeat this process till oven reached operating temp, which took forever. Problem is in the igniter. It may be glowing, but it is not letting the gas valve stay open, because it is not hot enough to create resistance in it to keep gas valve open. I had replaced the thermostat thinking it was the problem. The good part about it was I could take it back because my buddy works at supply house. Once the igniter was replaced, the oven fired up and stayed lit till operating temp was reached. It will also hold the oven temp much better. Oh yea, the igniter will stay glowing while the burner is on. Hope this helps.
Oven shuts off by itself
When your oven reaches the desired temp. it shuts down then turns back on again after it cools down a couple of degrees and cycles like this during the complete baking cycle. If your ignitor or oven valve is getting weak it would cause this symptom.
