GE Advantium 120 Convection/Microwave Oven Questions & Answers
Advantium display reads "nite"
The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.
If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

Unplug it, then when you plug it back in it is on the default screen for set time, turn dial to right for hours will advance up starts at 00, advanced to 01, 02, and same for min. when you are at say 9 press / push in main knob 1x to advance to minutes, and advances to next input so hours, minutes, then am pm pushing button after dialing to am or pm finishes and sets the time. How to clean liquid under round grate oven base?
Avantiums are heavy. Underneath the turn table mechanically is only the turn table motor and the frame of the microwave. I would let it sit for a day and dry out before using it. But in the long run it might create corrosion and eventually you will need to replace your turn table motor. But I have seen liquid spilled into the turn table motor and be fine. You may create more damage by uninstalling your microwave to clean up the spill.
Interior light stays on
Need a bit more information here. Does it still cook when told to do so? If not, you may have a problem with the door close switch. Perhaps it is as simple as using a screwdriver to finesce the actuator back into position. The inside edge of the door has a metal latch and often times a slightly shorter pin or tab that actuates the door open switch. This not only enables the light in the microwave to turn on when the door is open it also tells the cooking circuits to disable until the door is properly closed. If the switch itself is bad you'll have to take the microwave apart to get it out. RepairClinic.com has a huge assortment of parts that are easy to search and find.
Door hard open
It sounds like the hinges are worn out or broken. Probably cheaper to buy a new one that to fix the old one.
Only heats part of the time
A few possibilities pop out at me: Could be a door switch or the thermal fuse monitoring the mag tube's temperature. Time for a service technician to look at it, or, if it were me, I'd just buy a new microwave.
