CyberLink Power DVD DX 8.0 for PC - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a dell inspiron
The Dell Inspiron 1750 came with a DVD+/-RW drive. Did you purchase a replacement blu-ray optical drive (or purchase from dell with the upgrade to blu-ray)? If you do not have a blu-ray drive, a bluray movie will not play.
Cyberlink has some support information and manuals here:
http://www.cyberlink.com/prog/support/cs/index.do . Search for PowerDVD and DX8 for Dell in the two drop down menus.
In addition, Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 only supports Blu-ray in their Ultra Edition (Blu-ray Disc) only. You will need to purchase either a newer version of the product that includes blu-ray support (or if sold separately the plug-ins that make the Ultra version of the product). See
http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd/compare-retail_en_US.html for the different versions of Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 (and version 9). Scroll down to the section labeled HD Video Support.
I hope this helps.

I am on a Dell Inspiron the OS is Windows Vista
You need to change the resolution of your video card.
Close all open programs.
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel window, click Adjust screen resolution under Appearance and Personalization.
- Under Resolution, click and drag the horizontal slider control to change the screen resolution, and then click Apply. The reason you can see the other stuff is the same reason you see the whole commercials but the game or movie is cut off. Changing the resolution should work.
I WANT POWER DVD 8 ACTIVATING KEY
The only way you can get an activation key is by purchasing the product.
If you've lost your key the only way to get a new one is by purchasing a new copy.
Can i get my power
Hi skyline0815
Your activation key is listed in the product documentation when you purchase the software. If you have not purchased this software, you can not activate it without the key. Downloading or asking other people for a key is illegal.

the start up driver went bad replace drivers with a drivers disc.
I put a dvd
Hi,
Could it be the DVD you are playing is a Blue-ray? If not, try using any CD disk that you know is still working. If the drive still can't read the disk then probably the lens in your DVD has a problem already and you might want to have this checked by a qualified technician.
When I burn a dvd it won't work on my dvd player
First, can the resulting DVD be read and played on your computer? You should be able to play the DVD with PowerDVD on your computer.
If the disc can be played on your computer with PowerDVD, but not on your DVD player connected to your TV, then the problem is most likely the brand of blank DVD disc used. Many people do not realize that most DVD blanks sold in stores are not very good. Memorex is a particularly poor brand. Try using Sony, HP, or Verbatim, and make sure to get their "premium" rather than "value" brands. The best DVD blanks are made by Taiyo-Yuden (which is now owned by TDK) and can be purchased from Meritline or Supermediastore.
