You have the 'squawk' turned up too far. This will be a standard dial or a small slotted dial inset in the body. Turn counter clockwise to lower the resonance effect. This should not be confused with a transponder squawk code, which is a different thing totally. If your model is more up to date then the squawk function will be automatic and toy will need to reset it by firstly switching the unit off, then hold the transmit button and the volume UP button while powering the unit on. This will reset all the functions of the unit back to the factory default. If you still have problems then the unit is faulty and needs repair or replacement.

well the att does turn down the recieved signal but if it is too much ,,there is a chip resistor of value 56 ohm ,,,with magnify glass it sould have 56 on it on the curcuit board.

TK2212 is a Portable 2 way radio not a scanner. What is it that you are trying to do with the radio? What codes are you talking about? If you are trying to program the radio you will need software and cable that is available from a Kenwood dealer or sometimes you can purchase the cable on Ebay and get the software from someone on Yahoo user group "Radio programming"
