I'm getting a message: Ink System has failed.

throw the *********** off niagra falls! Oh,one more chance to solve the problem? tell me! This copier was set up for 90 days to recieve faxes of which it may have recieved 10 test faxes then 2 or 3 real faxes then "ink system failure" 0xc18a0006. This cannot be difficult! As a technition for 40 years,a module swap would seem to resolve any problem. This is not right or fair. I have dozens of pc systems RFU. This one sat idle awaiting a lonesome fax and died without so much as breaking a sweat. No,a chicken did not **** in it! When my Moen faucet has problems, one call to Moen gets me a free overnight fix without a hassle. Why can't HP do as well? Doc Lowe, 512-422-6434; [email protected]; fax512-328-8793.........

Printer wont print it has

You cannot print unless both cartridges are installed and have a decent supply of ink left in them. It doesn't matter if your printing only black and wont need to use the color cartridge. It still have to be installed with ink for your printer to work. There is no way of getting around this problem.
I wish I had better news for you.

The light by the card

Hi.

Disconnect the printer power cord.

With power cord OFF use a flashlight to check inside the memory card slot. See if any of the oins is bent or making contact, and check if there is any foreign object.

Connect back power and please let me know how it goes.

Regards.

Ginko.

I just installed two ink cartridges in my HP

I just had the same problem on my printer and found that resetting the printer solved the problem.

  1. To reset this printer, make sure the printer is on. Unplug the printer without turning the printer off.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Hold down the # and 6 button while plugging the printer back in. Keep holding the # and 6 down while the printer turns on. After a bit, on mine there was a picture of the power symbol that appeared on the printer display.
  4. When the power symbol appears on the printer display, take your fingers off the # and 6 button.
  5. Push the power button to turn the printer off. Push the power button again to turn the printer back on. The printer will take some time to go through some preparation. When the preparation is complete, the printer will recognize that the cartridges are full.

THE BLACK DOES NOT PRINT.

First of all, I hate to say this but, be sure you are using a genuine HP 02 black cartridge. Refilled / re-manufactured cartridges can cause damage to the printheads because their formulas are sometimes too acidic.1) Press the SETUP button on the front panel by the display. 2) press the DOWN arrow until "Tools" is highlighted on the display and then press the OK button 3) Arrow down again until you see "Clean Printheads" and press OK again. 3) After cleaning, press Setup again.. Arrow down to "Print Report" and press OK. 4) Arrow down to "Self-test Report and hit OK again. Your printer will print out another page. If the black ink is flowing on the self-test page but yet not when u are using the computer, then there's got to be some software problem on the computer itslelf. If it still doesn't print from the black printhead the we usually have either a print head failure or an IDS (Ink Delivery System) failure.
