Programming software for motorola GM300

Software from Motorola costs money. Yes, it is DOS based because this is an old radio. You buy the software, a RIB (radio interface box) and then a cable to plug into the radio. You must have a computer that has a serial port. Older, slow computers work best. Or you can call around for a radio shop that has this capabilty, avoiding all the costs and assuring you are programmed onto legal frequencies in your area. This avoids possible fines from the FCC.

How could i program/change the freq of my motorola

I don't think that you could program/change the freq of your Motorola GP2000 manually since newer Motorola radios today everything is done by computer and programming sotfware. You need to have software for GP2000, radio interface box ( RIB) and programming cable for GP2000 radio and these devices are not cheap. The best way is to contact a local repair shop to have it done for you or find a two-way radio technician, he could do this if he has all the test equipments required.
Good luck!

Where are the two push downs at ???

The battery has two push down latches. One on either side near the top of the battery by the belt clip. If they are missing, they broke off. You now need to take two screwdrivers and attempt to push the latches down using them at the same time. It is difficult, but can be done. Do not attempt to cut the battery off.

How to reset the program

The battery eliminator does not require programming. (This is the category the question was posted in.) If you are referring to the radio, you will need to visit a Motorola dealer for programming. It requires software, cable and a RIB (radio interface box). The software is proprietary to Motorola and available by subscription to dealers and qualifying entities. Best regards.

How to open my motorola gp 300 battery

The battery pack for the GP300 radio is a factory sealed unit. There are no user maintainable parts. Sorry! If you are wanting to remove the battery from the radio, look along the sides of the radio near the top. There is a spring-loaded tab on each side. These need pulled down and held while you slide the battery down and off the back of the radio.Best regards.

My radio does not turn on

Check the battery or the power supply to the circuit, If there is not voltage to the main board this can be failure of the regulator. If not it can be fault in the control circuit.
Check the output of the battery eliminator.
