Take the batteries out of it let it sit for about 5 minutes and then put them back in

I would take out the batteries. If you can charge them externally then do so. If they charge inside the camera after a few minutes put them back in and charge them. When fully charged disconnect the camera for any cord(s) and turn it on. It may have needed a reboot.

U obviously broke more that just the lcd screen. Your lens assembly is now fubar so you will have to pay the piper to fix it. Or just get a new camera.

Try pressing the "display" button slowly but repeatedly.

The problem may be the card type or size. There are limitations to what the camera can support. On an SD card there is a switch at the side which can be moved to protect the card contents (locked) or permit writing to the card (unlocked). Just move this to the unlocked position.

There are two easy ways to transfer photos. 1) Connect via a USB cable. The cable came with your camera. If you lost it, you can buy a new one on line or from Nikon. The cable has a small plug that goes to the camera and a large end that plugs into a USB port on your computer. Once the cable is connected, turn on your camera and your computer will recognize your camera's memory card just like it recognizes an external hard drive or other device. If you go to Explorer on a PC or Finder if you have a Mac, you will see it as a device. Open the device and the folder(s) it contains then copy and paste or cut and paste the jpg files from that location to a folder on your hard drive. 2) Transfer your photos directly from your SD memory card to your computer using either your computer's SD card reader or a USB external SD card reader that you can purchase on line for $20 or less. Open the battery compartment door and you will see the end of the SD card. Remove the card from the camera by pushing it in (it is spring loaded) and releasing. It will pop out. Insert the card in your card reader and your computer will recognize the card as if it were a hard drive or similar. Follow the instructions that I gave you for transferring the files above. Both methods can be simplified if you use software such as Nikon's Transfer NX.

If you are using rechargeable batteries, It could be that your camera's battery charger circuit is defective. If your camera is out of warranty, the cheap solution would be to buy an external charger. Another possibility is that a short circuit or defective electronic component is drawing excessive current and draining your batteries. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Nikon cameras do not have a reset button. Nikon cameras are reset using the Menu selections. Press the Menu button. Scroll to the wrench icon and press the right arrow, find the selection "Reset All" by scrolling down and press the OK button. If what you are trying to say is that you deleted your pictures from your camera's memory and you now wish to recover them, you are out of luck. Once you erase the memory, it is gone forever.
