OK, firstly you will need to understand that if your contacts were saved on your sim card, you can just put the sim card in the new hone, it should be there.

If the contacts were saved on the phone memory, you might be out of luck. This will mean that you will need to send you phone in so that your contacts can be recovered from your old phone. This is a pricey procedure though.

2. request the message center number...
3.note it down
4. go to message settings>message center number
5. insert the number which is noted by you and save it

The problem with your phone is that the earpiece on your phone is bad that is why you cannot hear the party calling you or hear anything while you call.

All you need to do is to replace the earpiece on your phone and you will see that you can hear whoever you are talking to on your phone.

Change the earpiece on your phone and you will see that the problem is solved. meanwhile, you can keep using the headset pending the time you will replace the earpiece.

Did you download any application on the phone? or but any new application on the phone?.

I might also be a VIRUS on the phone. that might be the another reason.

For the time being have you tried using a head set? I think this is due to the way the sound wires have been soldered together. I would not attempt to try and fix the problem yourself. If the headset doesn't work I suggest it's the way it's been programmed. Btw have you tried looking at your settings?
It might work if you put it on vibration. Does it work when it's off muted?

Yes, Sprint can reflash the Rant back to its own branded firmware and system software.

The software to do it yourself does not seem to be available online for consumers. Plus, if you do it yourself and make a mistake, you can brick your phone. If Sprint Customer Service bricks your phone, they give you a new one.
