MW19r powers up but sceen remains black

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on: Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Screen goes black but power light stays on

Hello. I had the same problem with my X2gen 19" (model MW19R)monitor. In my case, the monitor would turn off after 20 seconds or so but the blue power light would stay on as well. I had to replace a high voltage capacitor located in the backlight power supply board. There are 4 blue capacitors on the board which are identical and they are marked as 27J 3KV. Fortunately, I only had to replace one of these capacitors ( it was turning a yellowish brownish color ). Hope this helps.

Buzz coming from speakers

Buzzing is usually caused by bad audio ground connection. Try insert and reinsert the audio cable first. It can also be the sound card. Try using the MP3 player as the sound source feeding the monitor, if it still bad then it can be problem in the DC filter caps in the power supply, or bad sound IC in the audio board inside the monitor. Please post back what you find.

Power turns off and on fr abour 5 minutes before finally staying

Hello,

This is a classic symptom of a failing power supply. After 2-3 years of use many LCD power supplies will start fail because of parts called capacitors that start dying due to the heat buildup in the monitor case. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. Check out this page on our web site; http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/capacitors/ This article explains what capacitor are, how they fail and what you will need to get for the replacement parts. The parts can be ordered from many places on the internet, we stock they too. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service, that info can be found here: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/service-request-form/

I hope this helps you, if so please rate our solution.
