If you see power lights but nothing appears on the screen, it could be a "POST" (Power-on Self Test) problem or simply LCD problem.
Here are some steps that you can try.
1. Remove the battery and the ac adapter then press the power button for at least 20 seconds to drain electric charges left from the system. (You may need to repeat this step to get it work.)
2. If above step doesn't work, try to plug in an external monitor and see if you get display from the external monitor. You may need to press the Fn + F10 or F6, depends on the key designed on the keyboard to toggle between displays.
3. If you get display from the external monitor, I'm sure your having problem with the LCD components. In this case, check and replace faulty LCD backlight, LCD cable or LCD inverter. The LCD inverter is often a culprit.
4. Try to reinsert the memory module/s (RAM) of the unit, try using one RAM at a time to see if it works. A faulty RAM will cause the issue not to POST.
5. If reinserting the RAM doesn't help, most likely your motherboard needs to be replaced.

Some letters on keyboard have stopped working
Might have to take out keyboard and give it a good clean. keyboards attract lot of dust and dirt that gets between the keys and sometimes affect the keys when pressed. I would suggest that you take out the keyboard and use a standard contact cleaner and give it a good spray.

this "frozen" can be from the SO, please reinstal it, if the laptop behave the same and if you have warranty, please take him there, because you have a hardware problem.
in terms of hardware, seems to be from the system cooling, or memory.

Hello Yankeemaria - I'm going to assume you're running Vista as was provided with that machine. Also going to assume that you have two gigs of ram that came with the machine?
Can you tell me which browser(s) you have been using to view videos and what kind of Internet connection you do have? Does this jerkiness happen sometimes, a lot of the time or all of the time?
Give me some of this basic info and we'll start moving towards a resolution.

if you don't have any of your startup discs that came with your laptop than i suggest going to the 'start' menu/ control panel/administrative tools/computer management (double click). you should see an icon on the far left explorer space that reads "device manager". from there try and find your webcam device. if located and you don't see an asterisk "!" on it, you may just need a program to launch it and you can usually find those online by google-ing 'Webcam Software Freeware". if ther is an asterisk, you will need to double click the device and a window will popup detailing the device's status. you should be connected to the internet at this time in order to update or find the driver. once that is complete, you may or may not need a program to launch the webcam.

Your model of laptop does NOT come with a webcam built in, so the only way to use a webcam is to get an external one, there are several on the market that work wonderfully with your laptop.
Most electronic retail stores carry several models, just get one that suits your needs, plug it into the usb jack, install the software for it, and you should be good to go!

The charger is functioning well. There are still two possible reasons why your computer is not turning on. 1. The battery, 2. The computer itself.
What you need to do is to isolate the problem.
Here's what you can do to isolate the problem.
1. Remove the battery from the computer.
2. Turn on the computer using the cord. Remember not to put back the battery yet. Just the cable and the computer connected. If the computer turns on, then, you need to replace the battery.
3. If it still not turning on by using the cord alone. Try to wiggle the cord to check whether it's loose or not. Check if there are some signs of power on the computer. If there is a power like lights lit in the computer, then, it's the computer that's having the problem. You need to bring it to a technician if that's the situation.
