Have you looked at settings then music to see if the volume limit is set to on if so switch it off or set it to a limit that you are happy with. Hope this helps.

Need the model number, the serial number can't be crossed over.

There is a step by step instructions on how to do this at http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-iPod-Classic-Battery/561/1 however it is extremely difficult to do so I would suggest that you would be better to either go to the apple store or a professional to do this as you may find that it is cheaper to do it yourself but you could end up with an ipod classic brick

try checking the format the file are in. sometimes programs like windows media player will automatically use wma format that doesn't work on apple devices well

Plug your iPod in and open iTunes, select your device and you should see a picture of your iPod model with some details about it to the side, now look up and you should see a bunch of tabs that say "Music," "Videos," etc. click the one that says "Games," check the box that says "Sync selected Games," now select the games you want on your iPod.

It is best to remove off all the files from your IPOD and then reset the player. Now using the media convertor for Apple ipods- itunes- you can convert and copy all the safe files to the player . Once done the player must work without hanging and if not there is fault within the memory or processor.Download itunes from the Apple website.

That's the equivalent of the blue screen of death for Windows. That means there is trouble with the hardware. More than likely your hard drive. Usually the heads get stuck. If you can take it apart, remove the battery for a few minutes to reset it. Some people are known to have whacked their ipod on a hard surface and its fixed the problem. Only temporarily though. I don't recommend it.

Try this which should reset your ipod: First, toggle your hold switch back and forward and put it back to the off position. Then press and hold the menu button and the center button simultaneously for about six seconds and the screen should go blank and the apple logo should appear. After that it should work.

I had this problem with one of my iPods. Unfortunately, the device died a short while later. I ended up purchasing a new iPod.I suspect this is caused by a hardware issue. It sounds like it might be the hard drive has failed on the device. If you are handy you can replace the hard drive. There are kits sold online for this. As far as cost it might be easier to just purchase a used or new iPod. Your broken iPod still has value, there are plenty of online sites that buy unusable players for repair.

First try resetting the iPod. If this does not work then restore it.
To RESET IPOD: 1 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (slide it to HOLD and then back again). 2 Press and hold the Menu and Center buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Press play pause button if it has a lock move it back and 6 times while holding the enter/ centered button foro six seconds, you must do all this at the same time :)
