Hi please find above a service manual.
Colin, look the most inexpensive way for you to repair your unit is this, and i say this from 35 years of experience in the field and i have my own repair shop... and that is to engage a professional. it is as simple as that.
The "Fault" you indicate is most likely involving both the switchmode power supply, and the screen engine. Either of these requires a deal of knowledge of these units, and requires special equipment to be able to undertake a task like this.
To get the best possible outcome, please, do the following.
Contact either a local or head office of you sets manufacturer, Vizo, now ask them for a referral to an authorized service center. Now when in contact with them, FIRST only ask for a "Quote" as to the costings and the work actually required to be done to repair the unit.
Now when you are armed with all this knowledge THEN you can make an informed decision as to what to do, repair or replace.
Now I say this, as these days I find, more and more customers and clients prefer to put any monies that would have been spent on a repair, towards a NEW unit, with a FULL warranty.
This is further backed up, by some new long term research done by a major Swedish electronics manufacturer, that ANY unit that has been repaired will FAIL AGAIN, no matter what, within 12 - 18 months later, (Maybe less). So???
So you see with all this in mind, one really has to put a lot of thought into what to do.. It is NOT simple as in "The old days" no, now it is all changed, as electronics evolves.
