True or it could be a bad bulb or ballast or door switch, it can be many things, first make sure bulb is good. and that ballast is striking.

Hey dsfrank6088, i have the same issue right now. I called tech support and they are telling me that i need to change the light bulb which i did less than 3 months ago. Please let me know if you did find a solution!!

It should be pointing to the Light Engine,not away from it. Their is 2 plugs that plug right in pointing toward light engine.

Your bulb is burnt out. happened to me twice.

If the volume indicator appears and respond as you increase the volume but the sound does not respond, there might be a problem on the audio section.Ask for a repairman to check it. If the indicator does not respond, try using manual control instead of using remote control.Also some units have features to turn speaker off or on. Go to menu scan for audio check if it is turned off or on.

Please elaborate / explain here a bit more. You hit any button on the drectv remote and it turns off the TV? Do you have the original remote, and does that operate just fine?!

I had the same problem and had a repair guy fix the problem today. Needed a new power supply, ballast and lamp. My TV is now working so this is something you might look into.

You need to call Samsung about it and tell them your Model number. I have the same problem and they say that they don't have this problem with this model only with the LCDs. Out of warranty of course. We need more calls to them so they will pay the repair to fix the problem. I called 1800-726-7864
