Model 37PFL5332D/37 won't turn on
You may have three bad capacitors of the same values (35 volts at 1000Mfs). These are in your power supply. Locations are as follows:C965, C966, and C964.Also replace C975 which is a 35 volt at 220 Mf and 972 which is a 16 volt at 1000Mf. Be sure to use the 105 degree caps (high Temperature) in this unit. Hope this will help you in a fix. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!
Same problem
More then likely, the problem is the power supply, not sure if this one is internal or external. The manufacturers of these lcds are using cheap taiwan capacitors that fail as little as a year of use. These capacitors probably need to be refurbished. I have done a few LCD power supplies here at our repair shop.

I have Philips TV mode
I'm assuming that you have checked that the sound is not muted. To confirm that a reset to factory settings is the next procedure: Menu - Setup - General - Factory settings. If you don't see/hear any modifications then it's a hardware defect, not something with the settings.
This happens when the tv thinks that the headphones are used. Simple test to confirm that: plug in a pair of speakers and see if you get the sound on them. If you get and the situation doesn't changes when you unplug them then this is a mechanical defect: the small switch inside the headphone jack is faulty and keeps signaling that the headphones are plugged in when they are not.
The only way to fix that is to replace the jack, which involves a very delicate soldering procedure , one that only a good repairman can do - you must call one.

My rmt-d197a remote, i am trying to pair with my Philips t v
In order to pair your RMT-D197A remote to your Philips TV, follow these steps: 1. Power on the TV with the remote. 2. Press and hold the Setup button on the remote until the red LED light blinks twice. 3. Input the four-digit code that corresponds to your brand of TV on the remote. This should be found on the enclosed code list. 4. Release the Setup button. If the code is correct, the red LED light will blink twice. 5. Aim the remote at the TV and press the Volume Up button. If the TV responds, the remote is paired correctly.
