Sanyo DP50747 50 in. Plasma TV - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Y am I seeing green?
COMMON PROBLEM WITH USING CERTAIN CABLES AND DEVICES ON THESE TELEVISIONS... HDMI REPLACEMENT
Sanyodp50747 screenjumps now no power
That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..
Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:1. Open the back cover.2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..Hope this solution will be helpful..
Thanks for using fixya...
The TV flashes on and off very rapidly. Very bright images seem to set if off. Someties when it has been on several hours it will not flash off and on as often.mt
Good day!!!!Commonly that trouble is cause of faulty capacitors on power supply board...Power supply looks like this:
Please follow this step on how to fix that problem on your own..
- Open the back cover of your TV.
- Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
- After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
- After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
- Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter..
Try to watch this video about capacitors and how it worksI hope this solution will be helpful...Thanks for using fixya...
Have a sanyo 50" plasma
This tv problems are related to powering up the tv and sustancening the tv power source to the tv itself.Replaced the tv sub power supply board where the a/c power cord plug into it.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish sub power supply board for the replacement.
Sanyo tv just goes on
Hello,
This issue is related to a power problem in as much as the TV turns off on it's own.
The problem is consistent with overheating on the power supply board of the TV.
The
power supply board of the TV has few capacitors and IC. If any of these
IC's gets short or become weak, it can cause the TV to turn off on it's own.
When
current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.
The current also goes to the weak/faulty part, then the current stops
or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off on it's own.
This is a
common problem faced by many other users too. To
solve this issue, check the power supply board and read it with a meter and
continuity tester, in order to detect the faulty part and replace the faulty part on the board which is
short due to which power supply board
It's a bit
technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it
done by the technician.
You
can buy these part at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can
order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for
electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors)
most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a
refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.
Regards.
Sound went out. Been having issues with it cutting
This set is very common for open capacitors in the power supply. Likely your 5 volts and 12 volts from power supply to sound board are bad. More likely many more capacitors in the power supply are also bad. The common ones are 3300 uf 2 10 volts. all on the power supply board. Usually 9 or 10 of them.
Hope this helps
Show pic about 5 minutes then i hear sound, but no
There is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling, tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs or poor performance. The best way to check for loose connections is to tap lightly when the set is powered on, if there is change while tapping then it seems that there are DRY solder joints. Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, and use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points. Sometimes the fault occurs when the set warms up; if so you can simulate the heat using a hair dryer on the suspected areas, try with the power supply, distribution, Processor controller, driver controllers on the A/V related sections. Also the use a FREEZE-IT spray can simulate the components to cool and show up the fault. It can also be related to WEAK ELECTROLYTIC capacitors as the value can reduce in time. Based on the above method you must be able to locate the area of fault and solder the sections.
Tv turned off while watching it and wont come back
What was the previous problem and solution? is this a different problem than before?
Sounds to me like power isnt getting to the components.. at least to operational voltage where it will illuminate the pdp modual.(screen)
To fix this alot of troubleshooting is required because of the various things that can cause this.
Knowing plasma's pretty well , i am prone to blame this on heat. The lack of engineering prowess has flooded the market with disposable junk without any cooling whatsoever..i can heat a room with my plasma.
So lets see here.. power board could have blown a fuse, a peko hardwired fuse but this will cut all power to the rest of the set. Do you get sound? do you get a series of blinks from the tv's front panel? if so count them..its a error code... if you dont even get power lights..you pwb ( power supply) is dead.. either the secondary side or primary of the board..it has 2 phases to it. primare and secondary.
if the tv doesnt even fire and its completely dead...pwb.
need to know what functions the tv can do right now.
Tv shut off while watching. pulled back off, led
Good day!!!!
That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..
Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..
1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
The sound just suddenly quit on my Sanyo model
Test the preamp outputs - audio/line out - of the TV to be tested on an amplifier . If there is sound then the fault is with the power amplifier within the TV. If not there is fault in the SIF- sound IF and preamap. To trace you will need to use a signal trace and injection with a voltage check on the output IC. If absent check for open fusible resisitors or if this burns out the IC is short and must be replaced. Check also the speaker.
