I have to replace a sub in a jbl encounter and the wiring is yellow and orange. Which is pos, and which is neg?

Use a C or D size battery. Get two pieces of wire. Strip each end. Wire one end of each to the sub. The other ends you will place one on the top of the battery and, one on the bottom of the battery. If the cone moves outward, you have the correct polarity. If the cone moves inward(toward the back of the speaker) then you have the polarity backwards

My JBL DCR 600 head unit keeps cutting out after I turn the power on

try checking your speakers and/or speaker wires for grounds or shorts. If they check out fine, you have an internal problem with the amp, more than likely blown transistor(s).

I have buy JBL four way channel amplifier 3 months before. Nearly 2 times my amplifier is not working. Red light is glowing even wen ma car is in off conditions and amplifier is not working. help me

Hi, Looks your amp has gone into "protect" mode, the first thing I would check is the fuse, should be under the bonnet (hood) about 15 cm's (6" or so) from the battery. I've found a couple of sites that may be able to help with your problem. 1. > How to Troubleshoot Dead Sub Amplifier Car Audio 2. > Amp in Protection Troubleshooting Trust this helps, regards Alan.

I need to know which wires are for which speakers

Would need to kow what kind of car you have to be able to tell you but a quick way to find out is to take a AA battery and hook up the neg and positive wire from the speaker to it to see which speaker it is. If you are trying to figure out which wires from the unit are for which speakers, then take a speaker's (one that you know the location of in the vehicle) wires and hook them up to a set of wires from the unit and adjust the fade (front, back, left, right) to figure out which position those wires are for. If this doesn't help any let me know what kind of car you have and I'll see if I can help further.
