We just recently moved, and

-Try difference outlet. If it works then the first outlet you plug in has no power. -You said you already check the breaker. it looks fine. -Did you do any thing to the breaker or just look...? -If the outlet that you want to use still has no power then how about try this: -Open the breaker panel. Flip all breaker off, then flip all on one by one and check again. If you have power now then good. But still have no power then most likely the previous owner or renter disconnect the wires to that outlet from its connector. At the junction box or may be at the breaker. Good luck Mai

From what I can see in the parts diagram, it looks like you need to pop off a plastic cap and then tighten the screw to the handle: http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/R1105038-00003.png Good luck!

Electrolux Dryer quit and has a code E 63

Mark, the heating element is underneath the drum, on the left (as facing the front of the unit). Per the Dryer Tech Data Sheet: E63 Error Code indicates: [Fault] Heater to Earth Ground [Possible Fault Conditions] Heating element or wiring defective [Possible Solutions] Check heater coils and connections for short circuits to the cabinet. Replace heater and/or wiring and retest. To open the cabinet is quite difficult, speaking as a non-professional. There may be easier methods than what I used, but I was successful. First I removed all the screws from the back (there are many). This got the top and the back panels removed. The left side (where I could see the heating element was) gave me considerable trouble until I realized I had to remove the door trim to reveal one last screw. Finally got the side off and swapped out the heater. Much much vacuuming for me. I am still trying to figure out how to clean out the bottom of the duct (underneath lint filter), but that's another post. Also, just in case you don't have the manual and/or need to order parts, I will include a link. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Electrolux-Parts/Dryer-Parts/model-EIED55HIW0/1412/0151200 For some reason, the Sears Parts Direct website lists the dryer as a Gas dryer, which it obviously isn't, as the part in question is very clearly an electric heating element. Hope this helps. -Nick

Dryer shows E63 error code?

The error code E63 is a high temperature warning

If you dryer is under warranty, take advantage of it. If not it may be a failing sensor or possibly a control board.

Dryer wont start

Hi melissascalf ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT. Sounds like your problem may be a broken belt, or the belt may have slipped off of the motor pulley, or idler arm pulley, faulty capacitor, or a faulty motor. Note: This method works for most front loading machines. If you have to check/replace/repair your drum motor, drum seals, belt, rollers, etc.If replacing drum seals be sure to use a good grade of weather proof cement to hold the seal/s in place, some seals are furnished with the cement to glue it in place.Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer if necessary. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other electrical connections. Remove the lint filter and the two screws that hold the filter housing to the top of the dryer lid. Then remove the top of the dryer by inserting a screwdriver between the top and frame on each side of the dryer to pop the lid up from the retaining clips.Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards on a type of hinge and do not have to be removed completly. Remove the front of the machine by disconnecting the door switch and removing the two screws located on either side of the dryer frame.Move the door and front of machine forward to remove. This will expose the belt, idler bracket and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn. Note:The way the belt goes back on is, as the belt comes off the drum has to be doubled (pushed together to form a loop) and goes under the idler pulley then to the motor pulley. Here is a link to see a picture of your belt routing in case the belt is broken when you open your dryer:http://www.expertappliance.com/dryerbeltconfiguration.html While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you remove and lubricate the drum rollers. And also clean the shafts of the rollers as they will collect hair, dust, etc and cause problems and then lubricate the shafts and rollers with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil or a vasoline type of lubricant. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting dry and making a squeeling noise, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them. Please take time to rate me Bud

Dryer will try to turn but will not and will go to Pause

Hello david_whi764 - Try reprogramming the dryer by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes, restart unit, and select a normal cycle. Does it continue to Pause? If so, then the unit may be experiencing a communication error with the control board or wiring failure. I personally recommend contacting a professional to move forward accurately and to assist with the repair(s).

How to repair an open heater circuit on electrolux dryer

Hello Gary Melton - Usually this type of information is not release to someone who is not a technician and it is very rare to find enough information to do it yourself. In most cases this information can be found on the internet; however it is not provided directly from the manufacturer. Typically this is something that you want a certified professional to install/remove for you due to safety and liability reasons. They also usually warranty their labor just in case something else may turn out to be the root cause of your initial problem and it does work out better to your advantage. Consider contacting your manufacturer for more details on who in your area can properly repair/install this part (part usually have a 30 day warranty with tech). I would suggest contacting your manufacturer to provide you a listing of authorized technicians in your area whom may guide you through this process.
