Stove top ignition doesn't stop ticking
My Dacor cooktop had a similar problem of continuously clicking igniters. I unplugged it a couple months ago and used a piezoelectric igniter to get it started. Then I looked in the Dacor FAQ and it said to clean the ceramic igniter posts with alcohol not water. I had to scrape some gunk off a couple of the posts with a knife before cleaning with alcohol. Now it works.'
I think the igniters use electrical conductivity to detect when they need to spark, so even slight invisible contamination on the igniter insulator can confuse the sensing system. Also they all seem to fire as a group, so all of them need to be clean because if any one of them is dirty then they will all malfunction.
I have a Creda 100
Hello,
- Check that the stove is plugged in, there is power to the outlet,
and the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped. Spark ignition oven need
electricity to power the igniters. If your oven light turns on, you
have power.
- Test if the switch is at fault by turning a
functioning burner to the “Light” position while simultaneously turning
the one that’s not working to “Light.” If the burner that wasn’t
working now comes on, the burner has a bad switch. you will need to replace the switch.
Take care.
My Creda oil heater turns
Hi,
If you have continuity threw all ur elements , than you are having a problem with your power to or out of the elements. Turn off the power and make sure you have continuity across your safeties on the elements, there should be like a black disc looking thing attached to the high voltage going
in or out of the element. Also make sure your power is correct coming in to your unit.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
