My lenovo tablet 7 is stuck on the powering down

It might be installing an update. If you disconnected something while it was powering down - Internet, screen or something like that, it might have frozen. Make sure you have power cable plugged in and the same with the internet (if you normally have one). If it stays the same way for more than 30 min. then you can hold down the power button until the pc turns off (5 seconds). Then wait 30 seconds, then turn it on again.

Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

If done properly the user should get to a screen similar to the below screen.

Enable Boot LoggingEnable VGA modeLast Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)Debugging Mode

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.

select safe mode with command prompt

Then type at the C:\> prompt: typeDEBUG and hit Enter. You'll see a dash (-) at the DEBUG prompt. Now type: o 70 2e which will show as -o 70 2e at the DEBUG prompt. Hit Enter. Then type: o 71 ff and hit Enter. Finally type: Q and hit Enter one last time to quit DEBUG back to the C:\> prompt. Now you're ready to reboot your PC, and press the appropriate key or key combo (look it up in your motherboard manual if you don't know it) to access your BIOS Setup.

Youll notice the password is gone.

If this fails try typing

you could download all of these or just one save them to a usb drive for later use if one fails to remove the password

Hi, My Lenovo T400 with Windows 7 Home Premium

Hi AJ,
This is not a hardware related issue. I most probably is related to the operating system. Once the computer is loading up the kernel files and advanced drivers and applications on your computer, it freezes up. To further isolate this, you need to boot the computer to safe mode.
Booting to Safe Mode:
1. Turn the computer on. Start tapping on F8 as the computer is loading up. 2. You should be able to see a black screen with options on it. It is the Advanced Boot Options. 3. Choose Safe mode or safe mode with networking.
In Safe mode, open the system configuration utility.
1. Press the Windows key + R 2. Type msconfig then click on ok 3. Click on the startup tab 4. Click on the disable all located on the bottom 5. Click apply and then ok 6. Restart your computer to normal mode.
If this works you are not done yet. You need to open the system configuration utility and check on the items under the start up tab one by one. You need to find our what program there is causing the computer not to load up. Once identified, You need to uninstall it from your system and your problem is resolved.

When starting my Lenovo Think Pad laptop T400

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please try the following

1) Hook up a external keyoard to the USB/PS2 prot and see what happens

2) Press all the keys several times when the laptop is switched off to ensure that the keys are not stuck i.e. with debris etc etc

if this fails it would seem you have a bad keyboard, and would be looking at getting replaced

Computer Shut Down Problem

Is the computer taking forever to shutdown in the blue screen or is it something else. Perhaps try closing the applications running with the system to help the process speed up and actually work without the usage of the power button.

You can solve this errors with following 2 methods.
(1)When you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in safe mode.
Then if you are able to enter in safe mode then uninstall driver or software which you installed recently and face this error.

Boot your computer with that disk
For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 "del" key to enter in bios.
Then go to boot menu and set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom.
Then save settings and exit bios.
Insert windows disk in cd /dvd rom.

Then press any key.
Then follow the procedure then enter in recovery console mode then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"

Then it fix error on hard drive.
Then check if again you are not able to enter in windows then boot again and this time choose "R" option for repair previous windows " then it repairs old windows then it loads again old windows.

The monitor did not turn on

Try to check if the monitor displays anything - it would be very dark so experiment with angles/lighting. If you see picture it means that backlight is broken. Broken backlight can be caused by:
(If this is an LED backlit screen then this doesn't apply)
  1. Burnt "lamps" (cathodes)
  2. Broken inverter (most likely)
In both cases you need to have it repaired by a technician. If this is a relatively new display this will be cheaper than buying a new one.
