I would replace cd burner or possibly go to the manufacturer web site and download a firmware update. Most manufacturer sites are pretty easy to navigate.

The problem may lie on windows or the software itself

1. try to create a test file and try burning it to a disk 2. To do this Create a test file right Click on it > Click on send to DVD> 3. Keep on hitting next If the was successful in burning the test file using the software this means Windows built in burning software is up and running 4. We need uninstall /reinstall the software 5. Else you need to Click on Start > Run > Type Services.msc > Scroll Down look for Imapi CD Burning double click on it

6. Click on Automatic on the dropdown and click on start

You have to import the DVD, after you have click on the start page to create a new movie. In the workspace area, you will see the drives on your computer. Select the DVD drive and it should show the files on the DVD disc. Then import them into the work area. You can then drag the files to the timeline area.
