If the voltage and tip polarity of your replacement charger matches the charging port on your spotlight, there's no reason why it shouldn't work as a substitute for your original charger. Note, however, that if your original charger was more powerful (say, 1.5 amps instead of the 1-amp charger you have here), it will take noticeably longer to fully charge your spotlight than the original charger took. it's not a problem if the original charger had a lower mA rating than the replacement in your hand--the spotlight will sip an appropriate amount of juice from the charger.
LIGHT DOES NOT HOLD CHARGE FOR LONGER THAN 10
Its possible that your battery is exhausted; keep in midn that the
batteries are replaceable in these, however, you may not find much
information on the steps to replace. Usually, there are a few screws
holding the unit together, or, you may have to pry the two plastic
halves apart. The battery will be visible at this point. You can then
find the battery here: spotlight-batteries-vector-battery.
