The filler is on top of the transmission, it is not easy to get access. The transmission will use 20W50 full synthetic oil. fill to within 25-30mm to the top.

Should be a "c" clip holding the wheel on. Pay attention to the washers and put them back on the correct sides of the wheel.

This model only has 1 spark plug. It is on the front of the engine, follow the plug wire to find it. The fuel filter is between the fuel tank and carburetor. If a new battery does not start the unit (first check the battery) you probably have a bad fuse. Located on the back side of the ignition switch. Trace the red wire and you will find it.

There is an operator presence switch under the seat...it is more than likely faulty and must be replaced in order for the mower to run right.

Just about all the smaller type engines the alt. can be found under the flywheel. The alt is a combination of both the flywheel and the stator ( the electrical windings ) atached to the engine block under the flywheel. Watch out...if you use a vehicle to jump your tractor, it will fry the stator if you the jumper cables on after it initially starts!

Make a drawing of the deck routing and pull the belt off the mower measure the width and length of the belt and order one on line or go to a mower shop with the belt and they can size it to the one you need. Do the same for the drive belt.

Starters have a solenoid that engages the starter with the engine when you push the start/run control. If the starter will not turn off once the engine "catches" then there's a problem in the electronics that keeps power to the solenoid and therefore, the starter.
You basically have to trace the wires back from the starter to see where they attach to the control, looking for a cut in the wire that would short it out to the chassis (that's not where it gets power because the chassis is usually ground) but damaged wiring is usually the easiest place to start because if you look carefully, its visible.
If wiring looks good, then go to your starter controller whether keyed or pushbutton or electronic. Even though manufacturers usually leave service issues to local dealers, talking to a tech is free and you may find a good idea there if the ones I gave you take you deeper into the problem without solving it.
The thing is Glenn, be patient and go slowly. Sometimes these electrical issues are tough to diagnose, so keep your eyes open and go step by step. I just finally solved an intermittent starter issue with a 2000 Expedition that took months to diagnose. Take your time and good luck! Chad
