Universal Kreepy Krauly In-Ground Pool Cleaner Questions & Answers
My Kreepy Krauly won't move. I've checked the hose
Yes, it could. Check the filter and pump for debris. This could severely restrict movement in these
pool cleaners. Also, check the flaps of the Kreepy Krauly for debris. Also, check to make sure that the main drain and ALL suction lines, except the one the cleaner is attached to, are closed. This might also be why you have a lack of suction. My final suggestions would be to check the return line water flow and make sure that it is strong enough.
Kreepy crawly keeps stopping but nothing is
With Kreepy Krauly
pool cleaners, it is usually something blocked so you have taken the perfect first step in finding your problem. You will also want ensure that the main drain and all suction lines are closed, except for the line to which the Kreepy Krauly is attached. Also, if this is a new purchase, it could be that your pump and filter system are too small to properly propel the cleaner.
My kreepy won't move about. Even though the hose
With these
pool cleaners, there is a simple test you can do to see if your cleaner is weighted correctly. Turn the pump off and observe. The hose balance is correct when the cleaner's seal rests flat on the pool floor and the drive tube makes a 45 degree angle with the floor. Adjust the hose weights one inch at a time as needed until the proper balance is achieved. If the hose is too light, or rises toward the furface at an angle greater than 45 degrees, move the weights closer to the cleaner or move the first two weights closer to each other. If the hose is too heavy, less than 45 degree angle, move the weights away from each other.
What section do I put pool hose weights
shallow pool, one weight 4" to 12" from the head. as deep as 7', add 1 weight 6' from the head. deeper than 7', add 1 weight 10' from the head. If deeper than 12', add one more weight 12' from the head.
I have a 20X40 rectangular
The first weight from the cleaning head should be adjusted so the Kreepy sits flat on the floor with the system turned off. Then you can start moving the next weight until it starts climbing the hill to the shallow end. It may take a few times but if you get the weights set correctly it should work.
Kreepy Krauly curves left and then stays in one position
Try re adjusting the hose weights.
Also try twisting some of the hose sections to change the curvature of the complete hose as a whole.
Another possible fix to correct the memory of the hose curvature, take the whole hose out and stretch it out across your deck in an absolute straight line, and leave it in the sun all day. This will remove any memory in the hose, and make it straight once more.
This is the only way to store your sweep. Ever! Even for the afternoon. Never leave it curled up. If storing for long duration, either do it the way described above, or disassemble the hose sections.
My kreeper craler wont stay
it's usually caused by not enough weights on the suction hose, or the vertical stabilizer float has gone past the stop tabs and it sitting way too high on the unit. the hinged double stabilizer should be secured near the bottom of the unit and should only move side to side, it should not travel up the kreepy at all.
What should be the length of the hose for my KK for a9.2metre pool, kidney shape, with the skimmer box centred on the side of the pool
Just long enough to reach all wall and floor surface.
with equipment turned off, put one end of the hose into the suction port, then, holding the other end of an estimated proper length, walk around the pool all the way around, making sure that there is at least one extra length going beyond the pool wall.
It's because you mentioned the location of the skimmer, that makes each pool different. If the skimmer is located on an end, naturally you will need additional and longer hose length. But with the skimmer located in the center of the pool, the overall length of those will be much shorter, than the example above.
Good luck
Assemble a 14sv3058
all fits together and the hose goes into the skimmer, that is where the suction comes from
My creepy crawler was lifting on one side and was
Sounds more like the floats on you head than the weights on your hose. Make sure their is no water in them and they move free on the mast. Water will keep them from floating and keeping the head up right and if they cant move free this will cause the head to list. Good luck, I hope this helps.
