Open shaver by removing two screws on the back. Then remove back cover to access battery compartment. You will need to 'unsolder' the wires from the ends of the batteries. Once removed, solder the new batteries to the wires.

The heads are either damaged causing the blades to lock up or it is clogged up to the point that they can no longer turn. Inspect the outer combs for damage. If damage is visable, you will need to replacethem. You will find replacements for R-950 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

If no damage is visable, take the blades out and thoroughly clean them. You can soak in rubbing alcohol to help break up any greasy build-up

To change them, take off the back cover by removing the screws. Inside you will see the two batteries. There may be some black tape on the ends. If so remove the tape so that you can get to the tabs on the batteries. Unsolder the old batteries from the wires and solder in the new batteries

There are 2 locating holes on some of the Remington heads, and two corresponding locating pins on the hair pocket.

Other than that, the combs need to slide into the retaining bracket , they aren't just held in like a Philips/Norelco.

does the trimmer blade move side to side? there's a fixed comb and a movable comb. the movable comb is much like a hedge trimmer. a cutter moving right next to a fixed guide comb. its supposed to shear off hair with every side to side motion. if its not moving it ain't cutting. it operates off the electromagnet inside the unit. broken linkage will cause the problem.

The blades need sharpening, or replacing or you need to buy a new pair of Wahl clipper as they are the brand leaders and have a great after sales service. Remington make shavers, revolvers and rifles.

The rechargeable battery has failed. They need to be used, charged, discharged and recharged on a regular basis. If you don't, the internal makeup up of the battery damages itself. If you are going to use it, you can replace the battery, if not discard it or replace the battery and sell it on eBay as 'Refurbished'.

If you have pounted it correctly on the charger and checked for no power input etc, it may be faulty. Take it back for a replacement under warranty.
