Would low pump oil cause the engine to not start?

Sounds like fuel starvation, but I have a hunch that may be a design flaw in the HT ignition system whereby only a poor spark is got on tick-over. Maybe slightly narrowing the plug gap may work. Otherwise checkout this from other contributors: To start the machine properly you must depress the primer bulb at least 3 times to start the engine. The primer bulb is on the side of the carburetor. It can be black or red. otherwise, the ports in your carburetor could be clogged. Locate your carburetor and find the aluminum bowl underneath. On the bottom of the bowl, you'll find a bolt. Loosen the bolt (gasoline will come out because the bowl is a reservoir for gas, but please make sure you've turned the gas supply off) and remove the bolt and the bowl. Clean any debris out of the bowl. The ports are holes in the bolt you removed. Make sure that air can pass through these holes ( use thin wire, carburettor cleaner, etc.) Reassemble and your machine may run ok.

Hello my question is on my powerwasher the primer rubber button has like melted away how would that be replaced

You need to go to a small engine repair center to find the primer bulb that fits on your motor. It will depend on what motor and carburator you have. They are fairly easy to replace. The primer bulbs 'melt' or go soft because of ethenol in gas. You should expect to get one to two years out of a bulb so you may want to get an extra or two.

Honda 5.5 hp stops

Honda had a problem with the gas cap not venting properly, but commonly it will run for several minutes at a time before stopping. 30 seconds sounds like possible fuel delivery problem like a sticking float or dirty carb jet..especially if you have to run it with the choke on. A bad air filter...very dirty, or oil soaked might do this. Check your oil level. Sitting, oil is a little higher level than when running and these motors will not run if the oil level is too low.

My washer will start but

The primer bulb has a pin hole in it:
This is what you need:
http://www.mymowerparts.com/partdetail/1079/14606.php

All local lawn mower repair / parts sources have this part in stock. This is a common issue with primer bulbs that you have to hold the bulb in so that it will run. When you do that your stopping it from drawing air through the hole in the primer bulb so it operates normally. Replace the primer bulb and it will be fine.

Where is drain plug for

If you are refering to the engine, the drain plug is on the underside above the pump. Sometimes it's located on both sides at the very bottom where the engine is bolted to the frame. It may have both of these drains, but the one on the side you can't get to due to the frame being in the way so this is why they put them in two different spots. I hope this helps.

Brigs and Stratton powerwasher is

There is a filter at the inlet where you connect the garden hose. There also may be a filter where the high pressure hose connects to the pump. There also may be a filter where the metal wand connects to the high pressure hose. Check them all.

Hello i have a 6

You have to make sure you are pressing the trigger while you start the pressure washer. You should also make sure you are releasing the pressure at least every 30 seconds or the pressure will build in the pump and the engine can stall.

If it stalls with pressure in the pump and you don't relieve it by pressing the trigger, it will be very difficult to start. The pressure will slowly bleed off over time, which sounds like what you are seeing.

After first use we ran out of gas and now pressure

There is most likely a valve that shuts off the fuel to the carberator, check and make sure this is in the correct direction. Once it is, check the choke, some of these have a manual choke, some have an auto. with either case make sure that when it is shut off that the furthest out butterfly valve is closed, this will make it draw in that extra gas when it is trying to start cold.

No plug fire

This may not be the only solution but... the engine has a low oil pressure sensor that when the oil is low grounds the spark. Make sure the engine is completely serviced with oil. Once your sure the oil level is full attempt a spark check.

If you still do not have spark start looking at the black wire from the throttle control and check to see there are no bare / exposed parts on the wire that are touching the engine some where.

If all of that looks fine then disconnect ONE lead from the low oil level sensor and check spark again.

If you still do not have spark then most likely the problem can be either the igniton module or inside the air shroud a ground on the ignition coil or..... a failed coil.

Also make sure that the plug wire is not chaffed where it passes through the air shroud.

I can't start my powerwasher. Where is the choke?

This Power washer has a 3.75 hp Briggs and Stratton Engine. It does not have a choke but does have a primer bulb. You must depress the primer bulb at least 3 times to start the engine. The primer bulb is on the side of the carb. It can be black or red. If your still unable to locate the primer bulb please provide your ENGINE model number and I will provide you a link to a diagram for the location of the primer bulb.

Thanks for using FixYa.
