How to replace a cylinder ring in a hitachi nr83a
If you are going to replace the cylinder ring I would recommend getting the service kit (Part #18000) and replacing all the o-rings.
I'm assuming you have already taken it apart this far but if not:
Remove the 4 hex bolts on the cap and remove the head.
Using 2 of the bolts - thread them into the inserts on the top cylinder ring and use them to twist it off.
The cylinder and piston should 'pop' up under spring pressure from below.
Using an o-ring pick, remove the o-rings and thoroughly clean the tool - replace the o-rings and the bad cylinder ring. Lubricate the new rings with the grease provided and reassemble.

How to replace the trigger on a hitachi nv45ab2
Pound roll pin out of black trigger and remove. Turn silver slotted part with screw driver and the two valves will pop out. Usually it's the flat trigger bushing that is bad and makes it leak. I have all parts.

Driver not return
How old is the nailer. If it is old enough and not oiled each use, O rings get damaged and will leak air at piston and trigger valve. Depending on the brand a rebuild kit may be available with new O rings and trigger valve.
I have a Hitachi coil
I dont recall that there are any orings in the head area. Large leak from head area is caused by cylinder not retracting and seating against headvave. Small leak is usually gaskets between headvalve or cracked tube above headvale or rubber tube seal not seating against body of the gun. Test cylinder movement. Remove the head and push down cylinder, the cylinder should retract. If the cylinder is already down, pull it up. If the cylinder is very hard to pull up, most likely orings too tight or body of gun is warped. If the cylinder moves up with just little force, reinstall head and retest. If small leak, remove head and remove headvalve and look very closely for cracks in the head and tubes.
Air constantly leaking out around the trigger
You have an o ring that is split and needs to be replaced, I would recommend getting a repair kit and redoing the whole tool that ay you know they are all new. Give me the model number and I will try and locate one for you and also the area (zip code) and see what i can help with. they are not that bad to repair if you are mechanically inclined.
It will not fire nails
Does the motor start when you depress the nose against the work. Look at the green light near the battery compartment it should flash one when you pull the trigger.Is the gas in date?Try warming the gas first by putting it in your pocket for 10 min before use. You may also have an air leak, when was it serviced last? Remove the head assy and reconnect to see if it is sparking when you depress the switches. Do not have the gas in whilst doing this.
Why won't feed plunger advance nails?
The two hex head screws on the very top of the head hold the air deflector and attach to the headvalve (the part inside the head with rubber coating, this headvalve has a gasket under that should be check for proper alignment ). Other small screws that look like set screw are only plugs that are removed to install auto control hoses in factory work. These are only plugs so just put them in a few turns with locktite.
Best hardi board gun ever
There are alot of hardi board guns on the market and they are all very expensive.I installed hardi for years and have owned many of them.The best gun I ever had was a Bostich coil nailer for plywood.It has a high capacity magazine and all you have to do to get the nails to shoot flush without damaging the hardiboard is to put a rubber cap on the nail head.Go to a drug store and get the round caps that go on the bottom of a cruch drill a hole in the center of cap and cut out a notch so the safety slide will move freely.apply a few drops of crazy glue and you got yourself one mean hardi gun for a third of the cost.
Air leaks thru exaust on
Examine exhaust tube under valve for cracks and make sure that the tube seals correctly against body of the gun with rubber gasket. If tube is ok and has rubber gasket in place, check for correct cylinder movement. Press down cylinder with thumbs, the cylinder should return. If it stays down, pull it back up. If it is very hard to pull up, cylinder orings too tight or body of gun is warped. If it comes up with light to firm pull, go ahead and reinstall the head and test. If air leaks, try bumping the head of the gun (with air connected) against firm rubber to reset the cylinder against headvalve. If it still leaks, suspect that the cylinder is not moving up against the headvalve due to tight fit. Remove the cylinder and sand surfaces where orings contact to remove fine scratches with 400 grit paper. Also stretch the spring below the cylinder a bit to exert more pressue. Lube the cylinder with silicone paste lube. If you suspect warped body, remove all the orings from middle section the gun and insert the cylinder into body looking for out of round (with no orings the cylinder should just slide in to body of gun easily).
