When i try to play
This is currently happening in some countries.
Due to some heavy maintenance which made sony to shut off the playstation network indefinitely, most users have not been able to use the playstation network. Even though it has been restored partially and is now working fully in some areas, it still requires you to change you password before you can login to the playstation network and play multiplayer games online.
It is also important to know that this service is not yet fully restored in some areas. Please be patient until the end of the month of may and Sony promises that it would be fully restored all around the world by that time. Also note that there is no problem with your console.

I cannot get Resistance 2
It's likely that the Playstation models are different in the fact that versions were backwards compatible. Meaning that early PS3 models were able to play PS2 games.
BUT that was phased out and now all currently manufactured PS3 models do not play PS2 games.

"The 80GB PS3 is not capable of playing PS2 games. There is one model (the one with the chrome trim) that can play a PS2 emulator, but never an actual disc. The only two made that can play PS2 games are the out of production 20GB and 60GB"
Alternatively, available in the PS store are PS2 games that have been remastered to play on PS3 through download and others like the God of War series and now ICO have been made available to purchase in disc form.
Hope this helps...
How can I set up an 8 player co-op for two
On one console, create a local game with the settings you want. On the other console, go the local game menu and choose to join a game. If the PS3s are networked correctly, you should find the game to join.
Triangle button doesn't bring up friends/clan anymore.
If you have another controller try switching them to see if its a game problem or hardware problem with the button. If there is still a problem you can get on insomniac's website(im guessing your playing resistance) and contact them with the question. They can usually give you good answers for glitches in the game.
Sound not working

Hi, and welcome to FixYa!
Go to settings. Sroll down to system settings. Enter system settings and scroll down to restore to factory default settings. Once you restore the factory default settings, power down the unit and unplug it for two minutes. While it is unplugged, reset your router. Then after the router restarts, restart your PS3. This should fix your problem. You may have to reconfig your audio/video settings. If this doen't fix your problem, on your XMB go over to the saved game data. elete any resistance 2 files. Also delte the resistance 2 savedgame progress. Re-install the game. If this doen't fix the issue, then you have a faulty copy. Just take it back for an exchange! Sony Playstation 1 replacing the power unit
Before you start make sure that the console is turned off and unplugged before you begin the process. This is for the 1001 model types. With the 5501 and the 7001 and for the 9001 the process might be slightly different.
Step one: Open up the PS 1 console with a Phillips head screw driver and turn the console upside down and remove the 5 15.8 mm-long Phillips #1 screws.
Step two: While holding the top and bottom halves of the console together turn the PS 1 console back over. Lift the top cover straight up to remove it.
Step three: Unplug the power supply and then gently pull out the power supply cable straight up and out of its socket on the power supply to disconnect it.
Step four: Now remove the power supply and then remove the 2 14 mm-long Phillips #1 screws securing the power supply to the bottom of the case.
Step five: Lift out the outer edge of the power supply slightly, and then rotate the whole entire power supply away from the small clip on its inner edge to remove the power supply.
To reassemble your PS 1 console back together follow the above steps in reverse order.
Compare your new replacement part to the original part You might have to transfer the remaining components or remove adhesive backings from the new part before installing.
