Open the unit up and remove the mother board. Place the board on a cookie sheet propped/supported by a small wad of paper at each corner. Do not let the board touch the cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 170 degrees and bake the board for 10 minutes.
I did the same for the board in my Cuisinart coffee maker. Read it on a fix it site for Cuisinart when my coffee maker would not come on. Both my coffee maker and GOLFLOGIX GPS8 are working fine.

You will need a 60/40 solder and you will have to take it apart it will probley not be waterproof but if it is not in waranty it will not matter. mine broke all the way to the circuit board and it has a spring that is soldered directly to the board but it works now! IMO very sorry design for a waterproof rugged unit! The guy at Golf Logic agreed the battery compartment could of been made better! I am looking for a design with a snap out battery compartment rechargeable of course!

You need to reinstall the drivers on your computer.

there is a restore, but it requires the gps turning on. Call customer service at 877 977 0162 to see if you fall under warranty. make sure to tell them that it happened when you loaded software.

Make sure to wait until you press okay on your computer when loading courses before you unplug the unit. I was jumping the gun, unplugging it right when it turned off, and causing that issue myself with mine.

click on help in the course manager software, then click on "How Do I restore my golflogix unit". connect it and turn it on. when it tells you its restored, turn it off and on, and load your courses again. FORE!

Its not replaceable unfortunately, give GolfLogix a call, see if your still in warranty. 877-977-0162
