Oftentimes a model number that is very similar simply denotes a color or packaging difference or the accessories packaged with the unit. Also, different stores will carry slightly different model numbers that are unique to their store so that they can avoid having to price match since the exact same model number won't be sold anywhere else..
Staticky messages
these machines are all digital, so the static is most likely being picked up from the callers end or your end or your machine just is not working properly. in most cases it is a telephone line quality problem.

How do I get the ringer to work?
Take a look at both the handset and the base. On one of them you should find a ringer on/off switch. It probably got bumped to the off position. Your model number should be on a label on the bottom or rear of the base unit. Owner's manuals for most phones are available from the manufacturer's website.
After power cut the phone will not connect,it just
I think if you switch off by holding down the 'exit' key for about 10 sec, then switch on again (same key) it might recover. Mine did, but seems to need the process repeating from time to time. When switched on again it still has to search for about 5 minutes.
