Recommend you check voltage with a multi-meter - I made up a set of probes for my meter with needle points so I can go right through the insulation of the wire and check voltages. I, personally, never look at the arrow.. run be "feel" ..when you are running the boat from the trolling motor, you can sense which way the boat is going. Run by "feel" and you will become a much better trolling motor operator.. and a BETTER Fisherperson!!! This way you NEVER have to look down just to see where you are going...this is what really amateur fisherman do!! PRACTICE running the trolling motor TOO!!
