Most carbs come as a complete working unit with all the internal parts already installed. It will not include the 'Bolt On' parts. Parts like fuel lines, filter, filter housing and gaskets. Usually you won't need to use anything from inside the actual carburettor itself. The only thing you might need to do is to adjust the idle speed once you have fitted the carb.

I have had this exact same problem, doesn't happen everytime, but when it does it's scary. I depress the gas pedal, the mower moves forward, it has a hydrostatic transmission so when I release the gas pedal it is supposed to stop, but doesn't. I slam on the brakes but they have no effect at all, have to turn it off with the key to avoid crashing. The thing is the brakes work when this is not happening.

Water could have got anywher and damaged almost anythin. Does the primer work? Have you got compression? New filter etc?

sounds like you could use some new fuel and a carb clean...air cleaner, might as well replace the hoses too inside the tank. Trust me, you'ld be way better off bringing it in to have it serviced by a shop...its a pain in the azz...

Not likely the rod(s) snapped. If it's an OHV engine, I suspect it kicked a pushrod(s) out of place.

Check for piston movement. Remove spark plugs and put a long screw driver down the plug hole. Manually turn the engine. If the screw driver moves, the connecting rod is intact. Check both cylinders. If piston(s) are moving then likely it's a valve related problem. Remove rocker arm covers and inspect.

All questions need full 'make model (what it is)' as the first three words. Sounds like your battery is faulty or flat. They need a minimum or 11 volts to start. Also make sure the battery connections are clean and bright and tight. I just came across this searching for my name. I followed a YouTube video. The part where the reel is splits in two and you pull the handle out. The hard bit was finding something stiff enough to from the top to the reel. I used two wire coat hangers taped together and made a hook on the end.

The most likely causes of the solenoid clicking instead of energizing full are:

• Low battery voltage - Battery needs charging or replacement. Click here for information on charging the battery.
• Loose or corroded connections on cables and wiring that connect the battery to the solenoid and connect the solenoid to the starter. Inspect these connections, remove corrosion and re-establish good electrical contact.
• Loose or corroded connections on the heavy black cables that connect the battery ground circuit to the tractor frame, or damage to the black cable. Inspect these connections, remove corrosion and re-establish good electrical contact.
• Solenoid is not grounded properly to the frame. Check for missing mounting hardware or corrosion that may interfere.
• Faulty solenoid. It can click, but not make a complete connection. Replace solenoid with a new one from Online Parts Store
• Faulty starter or other mechanical problem with the engine.

If the battery is good, and has a full charge, inspect the heavy cables for loose connections, corroded connections, or visible damage that could be interfering with full current flow. Refer to the Operator's Manual for additional information about the battery in your particular tractor.
