You will need to take the unit apart and useing a wire clear the jets in the throught then flush with good pressure water. Check your filter to see if it is passing derbs. Also check your finger screen at the wall in the hose connection.

Remove the bag, remove the head float, remove the screw that adjust the water pressure to the tail hose, remove the tail hose. turn unit upside down, you will see two screws near the center of the bottom. That will allow you to remove the bottom portion first. Once the bottom cover has been removed there are two screws near the center once again, that hold the top portion. You will see more than two screws, but all the other screws have a washer underneath them. And there will be more than two. The two screws that you need to remove, are the only ones that look different from the others, and there are only two of them.

Do you have a Back Up Valve? It will be about 3' away from the unit. if you do, then backup valve has failed, needs replacement. Or... You can just replace the internal gear assembly. It looks like this, follow the link... Amazon com Pentair backup valve

Sweep / Whip hose is too Active... turn the adjustment screw 'In' to make it a more Lazy action.

Water supply issue... Most likely reason = clogged finger screen at pool wall fitting adaptor, this needs to be cleaned regularly. If no finger screen, then the debris that would've been trapped, has clogged your internals of the cleaner! all orifices will need to be cleaned.

What about the hoses?I'll take a guess...Should have 3 sections, with a slight possibility, depending on pool, a 6" - 10" section at the wall adaptor, then the 3 main sections.The soft clear hose - only as long as the pool is deep! And that is the first section starting at the unit.The second and third sections going towards wall adaptor, are the exact same length, and they will be measured to make up the total length required, to reach the furthest point of the pool, connected to the wall adaptor.Another Hose Fact...Do not store hoses COILED! They will retain the memory of the coil, and will always tangle.When not being used, lay outstretched on the deck in a straight line, the suns Rays will straighten and remove any coil memory.

Check the finger screen in the wall adapter, which is located at the wall, that the hoses are connected to. Inside that is a screen, and it's probably plugged with debris.

Check the cleaner feed hose length. It should be just long enough to reach the farthest part of the pool. If it is longer it may need to be cut down. Also look inside the fitting that connects the feed hose to the pool wall. There should be a small metal screen. It may have to be cleaned out to allow proper water flow. If the screen is missing then the jets inside the pool cleaner could be clogged. Make sure the feed hose floats are spaced evenly or arranged so that the hose is floating at the surface. Also there are jets on the back of the cleaner that can be adjusted that may help it pull loops out. One other thing is the head float that is at the top of the cleaner next to the debris bag. Make sure it doesnt have water inside of it. If it does have water in it then replace it.

I would try to have one part on your hand so when the hose try's to get tangled to can controlled the hose where it goes.

ive found a yearly total dissassembly ,clean and regrease useing waterproof grease thats foodsafe is a sure way to ensure you dont have any problems like these in the season of any pool cleaner

sounds like back up valve isnt working that is the rectangular object above the cleaner

make sure the inside of the wheels arent stripped they are gears if loose take apart adjust out so they touch the other gear that should fix that if gears are stripped you can change the front wheels to the back

make sure jet on back is in the 1100 oclock position
