well you did not mention if this marine engine is powering a jet drive or a prop but actually it has one to four impellers on it , one is inside engine cooling circ pump on front of engine and two to three are inside jet drive pump (if equipped)

waterproof grease can be used on this, it's avalble in most hardware stores in the plumbing section near kitchen faucets parts , allthough for the mechanical pump shaft seal nothing should be needed to seal this if it leaks it's bad and needs replaced , but the grease is good for the o -rings in the fittings and housing

If your motor is turned on and just hums then it is bad and will need to be replaced.RodUS Parts Center888-521-6183

Most likely the impeller is clogged, or there is a blockage on suction side of pump/plumbing. Is the basket clean? You may also have an air leak. If the pipe coming into the pump, or the pump lid not sealed, or if a leak at a union, or valve coming into the pump is allowing air in, then the pump may not prime or move much water

You will need to check the power gettin to the motor. Sounds like one leg of the power is down and only 110v are getting to the motor. Remove the wires from the motor and check each leg against ground. Hope this helps and good luck.

remove back cover of mtr. hold shaft with large screw drver. remember some modles have rev. threads

disconnect power take pump out remove front plate take back cover off motor use 7/16 wrench to hold shaft unless it has a place for a flat head screw driver at the back of the motor while holding shaft unscrew impellar counter clockwise take shaft seal off impellar make sure rubber gromet comes off with seal take back seal plate off motor by unscrewing bolts thru back of motor should be 4 knock out ceramic ring replace ceramic ring with rubber side toward plate reinstal back plate install seal on impeller with with flat side with rubber gromet toward back of impellar. screw impeller back on holding shaft if the shaft is rusty and pitted clean off with sand paper b4 reinstalling impellar lube up oring around front plate screw back tight and reinstal pump.

If it's a separate shaft, it requires a puller tool, but first you have to remove a nut that holds the impeller to the shaft. If the shaft is part of the impeller, meaning that it is a one piece fabrication, then there is nothing you can do about it. You haven't even stated where does this impeller come from, a washing machine, a water pump, etc.

If you have any clamp on amperage meters, you need to see what the amperage draw on the circuit is when it is running. This will tell you if something is wrong with the pump circuit. It could be anything from a bad capacitor to an impeller obstruction.

Impeller may be broken or clogged. Turn the pump off and remove the basket. Reach back into the pump with your fingers and see if you feel debris. If you can't reach or if there is debris you will need to open the back of the pump, take off the diffuser, and clean out the impeller.

Without knowing the code it could mean anything. Consult your owners manual or online manual for error codes and remedies.

probably the element shorted out and caused the problem get in an electrician to check the wiring and circuits

shut power down and replace outlet, GFIC only last so long, and if they have been tripped a lot they wear out, again shut off the power to the outlet before doing any work.
