Pride Mobility Products Hurricane PMV 4-Wheel w/55AH Batteries & Charger + Flat Free Tires - Color Viper Blue - Gray Fabric Seat - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a Pride Mobility
Hoping your problem is in the wiring to and from , or the light itself , usualy when the board goes , nothing works... make sure you test every contact point for juice to and from , before you discard the possibility...!!!!
.
How to find model number
There is usually a barcoded sticker with the information you need stuck to the seat lower support tube. Remove the seat by twisting and lifting it off the scooter - do get help to do this as it can throw you off balance. Lift the velcroed rear shroud off the scooter and look at the chassais seat post, you should find the sticker on the front of it. I found it useful to photograph it for future reference.
Mobility scooter is unresponsive
.good mobility scooter humm strange ...fitted a new throttle but still no go any fuses in the system might need a volt meter to test all the wires voltages and resistance between battery and throttle info says comes with two batteries ouch the w/55AH Batteries are about $250are both batteries holding full charge
Batteries go flat if left in camera
your title says camera ? but your post is in pride mobility ? but this will apply for any rechargeable batteries. the batteries could be at the end of there life ( they only charge so many times ) but cold and other things can drain them. heres a fix to try and get the full charge to stay full. you might have to do it a few times. charge batteries over night untill fully charged, prop the scooter up and jam the throttle on and just let it run flat ( anything else with full charge do the same.power on and let them run flat ) once there flat recharge again but drain the battery so it wont even light the lights.try it to see if the next charge holds ? if not try the same thing again. this is called calibrating..you might find after the first try it will hold half of its charge but will get better the more time you calibrate it. if that dose not work you will need new batteries. also try leaving them out of the item not in use to see if they drain on there own, this could give you a clue as to something being left on when there inside ? hope this helps
Speed control on Pride Hurricane
hi, the speed control could be faulty, see if you can spray some Wd40 or contact cleaner in the gap and see if that improves things...is it the one with the snail , rabbit speed sign ?
one bar on the indicator does imply low battery power ...is it flashing ? if it is then that's a fault condition

HELP!
hurricane scooter - model #PMV55001
If your battery is a year old should replace it a new one, When battery reach in a year the ampere rate is getting weak. And to prevent that you should always check the battery water level if your battery is a maintenance type. Feel free to send feed back best regards.
Charged up after xmas .turned

My Pride Hurricane PMV will not go forward or
Make sure that the manual brake release/freewheel lever is in the DRIVE position. The click indicates the brakes are being released but the motors are not kicking in. I hope this helps- good luck!
My dad has a pride legend and the motor gets hot
Cody yep that could be the problem. When you engage the throttle do you hear a click from the electric brake? Its possible that the brake pad is stuck to the motor casing and causing friction thereby creating the heat you feel. Now you can't just remove the brake cause the controller looks for it to let the scooter move. You can however take the brake assemblt off the motor and tie it to the frame and see if that sloves the problem Be careful not to break the wiring to the brake. If that works and dad doesn't use any ramps (He won't have any brakes to stop him on an incline) Then he can use the scooter like that until you can replace the brake. He must be careful cause only the motor will stop his forward progress when he releases the throttle. Did Medicare buy his scooter? If so contact a provider or a service company and Medicare will pay for most of the repair. Hope this helps you
No forward, only backward
Hi. If the light flashes 7 times, it has a speed controll fault. It might be the throttle lever ( wig wag ), or it might be the speed pot that controls your top speed.
Try moving the throttle lever ends up and down while you are driving the machine. Doing this wont fix it, but it will highlight the problem, if the throttle lever is faulty. Also try moving the speed pot back and forward a few times.
Good luck. Neil.
Plugged in to charge battery, red light flashing,
Hi. Sounds like there is no connection between the charger and the batteries. The charger uses the voltage in the batteries to regulate the charge. If the charger is not connected then the charger will not operate at all.
The fault can be a broken wire in the charger plug, or faulty charger socket on the scooter. Can be caused by faulty battery connectors, or wiring from the charger socket to the batteries.
Try moving the charger plug in the socket while the charger is operating. These sockets sometimes wear and dont contact properly.
The best way is get someone with a multi-meter and try and trace the fault for you.
Good luck. Neil.
Wont charge
the batteries have failed or the fuse in the charger
ted
The scooter is about five years old or so,
hi, the charger unit is breaking down, Sometimes the batteries can cause this problem but I think you find it the charger, when batteries get older they simply don't hold the charge as much as when new, also the way they deliver power can drop off quicker.

GeWiz.
After a period of use the Scooter turns itself off.
sounds like it might be a bad throttle pod, or the brake is overheating. If you can pull the rear shroud off and drive it for a while you can check to see if the brake is overheating. Be careful when checking it because if it is really hot it will burn your fingers. The throttle pod can be checked with an ohm meter but i'm not sure off the top of my head what reading you should get. let me know if you would go that far and i'll get it for you.
