Hi , in the manual l it's known as a (8) Motor volts error. I strongly suggest you check all connections , check the brushes making sure they move freely and the strings okay spray in some contact cleaner and refit, once again check all connections, what the error actually means is that the rsistance for the motor is wrong , so the above check should address the issue..Regardswww.gewizrepairs.co.uk

The motor operates on low voltage DC current Robert. You will have a negative and a positive, like a car. The center connector is a common, meaning that it will be connecting to the motor whenever you switch is activated to make it go, and the other two are positive and negative to control either up or down. These should be color coded red and black and will go to the outside connectors and the remaining wire will go to the center common connection. Hook it up and then test the chair lift button. If it doesn't lift, you need to reverse the two outside wires for correct polarity, or just use the switch controls opposite; up for down, down for up.

An 8-flash code indicates that the controller has shot craps. The controller is located under the shroud beneath the seat by the batteries and it controls all of the power and automatic functions of the scooter. They are damaged most often by water infiltration like running through deep puddles, etc. or by over-amping the scooter by driving it through unstable terrain like sand, mud, wet grass. There's no fix for it but a replacement and it's pricey...several hundred dollars.

From a pure physics standpoint... The energy to climb a hill... be it from the steep side or the gentle sloping side is the same... It is just easier on your heart and joints to take the gentle slope... (assuming you have the time). ERGO: If treating the scooter like a QUEEN is your goal... DEFINITELY GO SLOW.
