The circuit braker keeps kicking out on my go go ultra X scooter and the motor gets hot-could it be that the brake has to be replaced or the motor
First check to see if the brake is not releasing completely. If the motor is free-wheeling without the brake on raise up the scooter to get each wheel of the ground and see are they free wheeling. If evrything seems to be free-wheeling smooth when the scooter is in a neutral mode, then you have a weak breaker or most likely, since the motor gets hot, sound like you motor is going out, a bearing, the brushing, etc. Always try the least expensive way first. Hoping it's not the motor because they can be quite pricey. If it is the motor check the price of a refurished motor first!!!! They are usually half the price!!! Good luck.
Pride mobility scooter died after bogging down and tripping the fuse repeaedly
iT sounds to me like you have one or more shorted windings on the armature of your drive motor which is apart of the trans-axle assembly. TO BE SURE remove the entire trans-axle module. I have a Rascal 600t all i have to do to remove my trans-axle is to remove to quick pins and my entire trans-axle assembly comes away from the scooter. Take the entire assembly down to your local motor repair shop that can rewind motors. Thay will check out the motor, take it apart and clean all the carbon dust from the brushes that gets all over the interior of the motor, doesn't do the motor bearing any good. Rewinding a motor isn't inexpensive costing $200 and up depending on the size and complexity of the motor. But the scooter trans-axle cost is astoundingly high at $1,500 and up. They say they are sealed unit and that they can not be repaired. In reality trans-axles are quite simple to repair and easily repaired. The only difficult thing are the scooter companies that will not come across with the parts and info we need in order for us to keep our scooters in good repair. So ii'd take the trans-axle down to the motor shop. They don't charge anything to check it out. When they do maintenance you will know its working right. When troubleshooting problem with scooter you eliminate half the machine when you eliminate the trans-axle. Get back to me once you've checked it out
Pride hurricane backing up
Under ideal conditons this scooter will go one half speed in reverse. On rough terrain it may be slightly slower. I am assuming that the speed control is all the way up (clockwise), the batteries are fully charged and in good condition. If all of these are true you may have a worn throttle potentiometer. It may have bad contacts on the potentiometer in the reverse section of the control. This control can be cleaned bu the solution is only temporary. I recommend replacing the throttle pot after teload testing the batteries to verify they are good. You should make a resistance check on the throttle pot to verify it is faulty before replacing it.
I have new batteries and charger but batteries will not charge
If your battery is totally flat some chargers see this as connecting to a short and will not charge. If the battery has a charge run it down some, my batteries often don't take much of a charge if any. Does the charger light up.Does the charger have any fuses on its out put wiring. Open the charger up, do you see fuses. When the charger is on do you see any blinking lights. If you get a blinking yellow light when hooked to a battery there is something wrong with the battery. Hope this helps
