Omron HEM-711 IntelliSense Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor Questions & Answers
OMRON Model Hem-711's display is messed up. Over
Same problem on my Omron HEM-711. Manufactured in 2003, past the 5-yr warranty. Cust Suppt told me to replace unit. I opened the unit up and looked inside. Two very tight phillips screws, one on back panel, other in battery compartment. Case pries apart. LCD display looked intact, ribbon was undamaged. Unit appeared to work properly, just did not display correct reading, some of the liquid crystals in a few of the digits were not activating. I installed batteries with case still open, turned power on while pressing ribbon along edge of circuit board. Ribbon is manufactured with glue to circuit board, some of the leads come loose after several years due to manufacturing defect. In my case, pressing towards the bottom side corrected problem. You can see when it's working properly because all the display crystals light up simultaneously when unit is first powered up. I clamped down ribbon with two small paper clips insulated with a few bits of paper, works fine now, saved eighty bucks.

Jean, recalibration has to be done by the manufacturer of the monitor. They usually offer this at no charge, other than the shipping cost.

Your BP monitor may need recalibrating. In which case, the manufacturer can do that for you. Also, remember, when you take your BP at home, if you had just eaten, smoked a cigarette, drank a cup of coffee, etc. It will affect your blood pressure rather quickly.
Hope this helped you. If so, please take a moment, to kindly rate my response to you. Thanks and have good day!

Take the cuff to your doctors office and have the nurse check with yours and the office BP cuff. If your cuff is too small, you will get a false high reading.
I replaced the batteries of my Omron Karada Scale BF511 and it's been showing Err. When I step on it, the scale reads up to a 110kg (and I weigh 76kg) before reading Error. Please help.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Make sure the scale is on a flat, stable surface: Uneven or unstable surfaces can affect the accuracy of the readings. Place the scale on a hard, level floor and ensure it is not wobbling.
2. Check the battery installation: Double-check that the new batteries are inserted correctly, following the polarity markings inside the battery compartment. Ensure there is good contact between the batteries and the terminals.
3. Calibrate the scale: Some digital scales require calibration after battery replacement or when experiencing issues. Check the user manual for instructions on how to calibrate your specific model. Calibration usually involves placing a known weight on the scale and adjusting it accordingly.
4. Clean the scale: Dirt, dust, or debris on the scale's surface or sensors can interfere with accurate readings. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the scale, ensuring it is dry before use.
5. Try weighing yourself multiple times: Step on and off the scale a few times to see if the error persists. This can help determine if the issue is consistent or intermittent.
