Breadmaker Won't Start

I had the same problem. Check the delay start button even though it doesn't tell you to. To get my machine to work the first time I used Menu #3 (which does not have a delay start) and it worked. Then I tried to use the dough cycle and it wouldn't go either, so I unplugged the machine, plugged it back in, went to Menu # 3 first to see the time (which was 1:50) then I checked the delay time to make sure it was also set at 1:50. Mine was not (it said 2:00) so I moved it down to 1:50 and it started 15 minutes later. I really don't like this 15 minute delay on this machine. I am going to try regular bread later and I will make sure that the delay time is the same as the time given for completing the loaf ( ie make sure it says 3:30 NOT 13:30. I hope this works.

I have a Black and Dekker all-in-one Breadmaker

NO, it;s better to wait until kneading has started. If it has a second kneading add then. If not, add in a few minutes after ingredients have started mixing. Just lift the lid and drop them in as it mixes.

Some machines are very noisy compared to others. Other than replacing your machine you can,,,, after you have loaded all the ingredients into the machine take it to a part of your house where it won' bother you as much and plug in there...garage? If that is too much trouble you are looking for a really quiet machine to replace yours.. I recommend the Toastmaster 1183 or Breadman TR888.... There is only one way to do that. And even with this method you will still have a small hole inthe loaf where the spindle is in the bottom of the pan. Look at your owners manual and find the pagethat shows cycle times for each program. What you can do is remove the dough ball after the final "punch down" ofthe dough. That is the final actionbefore the last RISE and the final BAKE stage. On most programs each of those two stages lasts about 45 to 60 minuteseach stage. After the final punch downwith lightly floured hands reach and remove the dough ball extract the paddleand replace the dough ball in the pan. It will then rise and bake. Youdon't need the paddle in there because no further kneading takes place just thefinal rise and bake. Readers, pleasesee my new novella of mystery, horror, and suspense on Amazon. No, there is nothing wrong with your bread maker. The paddle is supposed to be somewhat loose so you can remove it after baking for cleaning. Don't worry your paddle and breadmaker are fine.

Hi, Take the paddle out of the machine at the end of the last kneading cycle and before final rise.. Use pause or take pan out of machine to remove paddle. OR... spray the shaft with a small amount of olive oil. This should allow paddle to come out when bread is done. You will have to fish the paddle out of the bread in this step. Hank
