How to open to get water inside
No need to open iron! You just unplug the iron. Hold the iron upright. Using a clean cup, pour water into the "open" WATER FILL HOLES just above or in front of the Temp. Select Dial. Watch the water window on the left. When water level reaches MAX, you are filled. Plug in and use. Refill as needed. Ref. - Page 8 in the instruction pamphlet.
How to clean inside of
Unplug the iron! Allow iron to COOL completely!!! Wipe soleplate with damp soft cloth or damp soft sponge. NEVER use abrasives, cleansers, scouring pads that will scratch iron and cause discolorations. The iron has an Auto Clean Steam Valve feature that will prevent most mineral and lint build up everytime you turn the Temp. Select Dial to "0" after use. (Ref. - page 11 of the instruction pamphlet). If you have a really bad hard-water build up problem, use a commercial Steam Iron Cleaner and follow the instructions exactly! Repeat every 3-6 months and you should be fine. Good luck!
