The sparks are generally seen where the carbon brushes meet the copper commutator on the motor spindle. This is actually fairly normal. You can lessen it by spraying with some light machine oil, but eventually you will need to replace the carbon brushes.

There is a little spring clip where the beater is inserted. Disasemble and use some pliers or such like to gently squeeze the clip closed a little. Be careful not to close it up too much.

Turn the mixer upside down and spray WD40 into the beater holder holes. I think there is a ball bearing detent that hold the beaters and it is probably seized. Spray all around the gap between bowl and base with WD40. Then use brute force. Next time, rub a little Vaseline around the surfaces that lock the bowl in place.

When your Grundig start flashing it's 99% stop position switch fault. It can be located in opposite side of speed control board.
You can simply open your mixer, remove speed control board and inject contact cleaner (or similar) directly to holes od black switch. I used medical injector.
Of course better solution is replace switch - it cost few dollars for ten. But in this case you can apply DIY skills. Nothing hard.

Take a 4 foot length of string and put it through the loops of the stuck beater. Tie the end of the string in a knot. Put the loop of string under your foot and hold the body of the mixer and pull.

the part that has failed and intensionally so, is a 'shear pin'. The is a mild steel pin that breaks if the beater gets jammed or strained. They are put into a cog that slips over a shaft. Undo two screws under the base which holds the entire top portion. The base and motor section should now separate. Remove the tilt lock from the tilt shaft, it needs to have two plastic tabs gently eased apart to slide off, there is one screw under here. There will now be three exposed philips screws on the underside with two more under plastic plugs nearer to the front of the mixer. Remove the two larger plugs to expose two more philips screws. These 5 screws hold the case together with a moulded clip at the front of the front of the mixer. ( Tip: a bead of hot glue on the plastic plug gives something to pull on with pliers, and not damage the plug)

The power supply, like mains, plug and cable. then the on of switch or button. To check the motor, you have to open it, but I think you better leave that to a tech.
