Bosch 24 in. SGS47E02 Exxcel Free-standing Dishwasher - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
We have an error message on our Bosch Exxcel
Hi Martin.
There is no Error H24 on Bosch machines. What the display is trying to tell is H2O, incorrect displaying may be caused by defective LCD display or board.
H2o is displayed when there is an inlet problem, either because water pressure is too high, too low, inlet hose is kinked or blocked, inlet valve is devective, or pressure switch is defective.
If you get problem only when selecting Intensive, which requires higher water pressure, then the problem can be pressure from the house lines, inlet valve blocked or pressure switch.
Let me know if this helped, in case do not forget to accept.
Regards.
Ginko.

Error message E06. Will not start
This error code is the door mechanism or the electronic panel. Mine also had it within days of purchase, got fixed. Seems to have shown up again.

There is a smell coming from the dishwasher - what
Frankly, the best way is to buy a propriatary dishwasher cleaner. FINISH do a square bottle of blue and yellow liquid that attacks both residual grease and limescale - You put it in the dishwasher on a normal cycle with no dishes in the machine and run it through a hot cycle (Instructions on the bottoe anyway). No doubt there are other similar products around, but for once, I tend to go for expensive high quality rather than an economy brand.

Wont finish cycle - keeps going with 1 minute
Hello there,
Long or endless wash cycle times indicate a fault in the water heating circuits. The water heater, NTC or the control module are the likely culprits. Some minor dis-assembly and testing will be required to determine the exact cause of the fault. Please can you answer the following simple questions to assist me in solving your problem:
1. Is the water heating?
Start a regular wash cycle, let it run for about 10-15 minutes, then open the door and check for steam or test the water temperature in the bottom of the washer by hand. The water should be hot, not luke-warm.
2. Do you have an RCD fitted in your consumer unit? (fuse/breaker box)
3. Do you have a Torx T20 screwdriver and a multimeter - these will be required for any testing and/or repair.
If your simply looking for a diagnosis and some idea of repair cost, the water heater and the control module are about £100 each to buy. The NTC is about £20 but this is less likely to be the cause of the problem. Labour charges will be extra. The control module can sometimes be repaired with a relatively simple re-soldering of the heater relay pin/s.
All of the above can be replaced on a DIY basis, but the water heater and NTC are best left to a professional.
If you need further assistance, please let me know the answers to the above questions.
Regards,
BElectric

It comes on but never finishes its cycle and does
You might have a jammed pump or a blockage. Start at the waste hose outlet end under the sink. Check the spigot by removing the hose and looking for a blockage If no blockage then soak up and some how get rid of the water in the machine. Look in the book to see how to remove the pump cover and check for blockages and see if the pump impeller turns . It might not spin freely but notch around This is normal. If you cant find the problem by doing this the call for professional help. Hopefully you will find something jamming the pump and have fixed it yourself. this is quite common
Cheers

Display will not go to
Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description I'd say the issue actually with the control...unfortunately. The "1" being displayed is actually an error code associated with a heating fault.
**B/S/H/ also issued a recall on certain models between 1999 - 2006 depending on the model & serial number, you can check with yours but...you'll need the serial number too. Here`s the link if you want to see for yourself **
http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/
As I've alluded to the issue is likely within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ).
If you feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself...it really isn't very complicated.
It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board.
The culprit will 99% of the times be one of the pins from the heater relay,
**Flip this over and inspect the solder joints, it will be obvious when you see it.**
This ones new, but it's where to look...
...hence the unit sit`s and takes longer & longer to finish because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed...or takes a long time as I mentioned and eventually display's "1" on units with a display and usually very poor cleaning as a result.
You can also run the unit through a regular or econo cycle ...any cycle with the exception of rinse & hold, and with the door panel removed place an ammeter on the gray/black wire it should draw 11 amps during the wash cycle...after it fills and the flow switch indicates it has adequate water to engage the heater.
i.e.
**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**
**Please disconnect the power or turn off the breaker before attempting any service to the dishwasher.**
If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau/Siemens, to service your machine.
Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank`s for visiting "FixYa" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness.
Good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

Dirty dishes & not draining properly
The problem is most likely that there is still water residue at the bottom of your machine. If the machine is not fully drained it picks up some of the residue and sprays that onto the dishes during the final rinse, leaving an unhealthy and unsightly film on everything.
Remove the bottom strainers and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the outlet pipe and the pump. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.

DURING THE COLD SNAP MY DISHWASHER FROZE WHILE I
Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
the ice has frozen, your unit..when the ice freezes it expands, thus cracking your plastic part's and maybe some metal ones. The water inlet valve is the first to go.
You may have somebody try to replace it, but after that. you may have other frozen/damaged parts in the machine.
I tried to help you. Please help me and Rate/Vote on my response. We take the time to answer your question. take the time to rate us.Thanks and good luck

Bosch Exxcel Diswasher SGS43E08GB/43. Top spray
try starting the washer, then opening to door and checking the water level in the bottom of the machine, as far as I know, there should be enough water there to disolve the tablet when it sits in the bottom. if not that much, bung in a few cupfulls and you should see the pressure dramatically increase!

Runs thru cycle but no heat . Exaust air is cold.
first make sure you have 240volts at the plug,if not check homes fuses or breaker to make sure they're good and/or not tripped, then remove either the top and front cover,or if the heating element is accessable from the rear do that,if the elements ok then check the hi limit thermostat on the element housing, then check the thermal fuse and cycling thermostat/switch on the blower housing,if any of these open you wont get heat
